Nebraska Senator Chuck Hagel, who is considered a prospective presidential candidate said Sunday, on "This Week" on ABC, that the war in Iraq has destabilized the Middle East and is looking more like the Vietnam conflict from a generation ago. Republican Senator George Allen of Virginia, also a possible candidate for president in 2008, disagreed that the U.S. is losing in Iraq. "I think this is a very crucial time for the future of Iraq," said Allen, also on "This Week" on ABC. "The terrorists don't have anything to win the hearts and minds of the people of Iraq. All they care to do is disrupt." Conservatives voted overwhelmingly for Bush in 2004 and it was because of the war not in spite of it. Despite the views of the Left, Cindy Sheehan, and Senator Hagel, most Americans do not feel we should leave Iraq before the job is done. The pollsters who ask the question of whether Americans are satisfied with the handling of the Iraq war should qualify their question. They should ask Americans whether or not they think we have done enough in Iraq. Many Americans feel that our troops have been handcuffed into fighting a politically correct war and that we should stop tip toeing through Iraq and bring the full force of the American Military to bear on the insurgency.
"destabilize" ~ Hmm, Brer Hagel sho' nuff' laiks his dictators!
Considered a presidential candidate by his own ego and liberal MSM. He'll get a good FReeping if he enters the NH primary.
Chuck Hagel, who "was" a prospective candidate, until he opened his mouth....
I guess he must have decided either:
a) He didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning or,
b) He didn't really want the job.
because after running his mouth off like this, he can't possibly still want to be President. He'll get ground into hamburger in the primaries if he makes the attempt.
Hagel is **still** an @ss
The war must be polling poorly in his home state.
For which Party?? Why do these guys believe pandering to the Stone Age Press is going to help them with the Base??
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
The Hague?
;-)
"The war must be polling poorly in his home state."
Nebraskans are ashamed of him....we support President Bush!
He can be president of the local dog-catchers club. That's it.
Hagel, Frist, . . . the list of would be Republican candidates is mounting. I think it will be Newt in 2008.
Many Americans feel that our troops have been handcuffed into fighting a politically correct war and that we should stop tip toeing through Iraq and bring the full force of the American Military to bear on the insurgency.
AMEN!
I say bring on a true conservative....Dick Cheney!
