...When Cindy walked through the gate, there were a few people who booed and hissed, but I don't think Cindy was able to hear them over the cheers of her supporters.
A few moments later in the lobby of the airport, Cindy was givine a quick statement to the assembled media and activists, when the airport intercom interrupted with the following message: (Paraphrasing)
"Welcome to Waco Texas: Bush country. Passengers going to Dallas, flight 1234, please prepare to board at gate 2"
This elicited a few cheers from the anti-peace supporters int he airport. I'm sure they thought they got a good zinger in, but all it did was make Cindy's presence even more dramatic for the media.
Once Cindy and the media frenzy had passed, I remained behind in the airport. I gave in to a sudden urge to yell "YAHOO!" and jump in the air.

"anti-peace"
That phrase cracks me up! Do the lefties realize how stupid they sound?
Is this a trick question?
It was dramatic, after all, a strange woman in a straitjacket is rather damatic.
;-)
When Sen. John Kerry came to speak at the University of Pennsylvania this past yr, some buddies and I constructed a HUGE banner saying "WELCOME TO BUSH COUNTRY" that we wanted to hang from a parking garage behind Kerry. It would've been on all the cameras and everything. Unfortunately, Secret Service wouldn't let us get up there. One did compliment us on the sign though, lol.
The irony of having a Bush Country sign in West Philly on an Ivy League campus would've really been classic. Missed opportunity... but I'm glad the announcer picked up the slack.
"anti-peace supporters"
They will never understand that those of us supporting the President are the true peace supporters.
"Jokingly, the press CHEERED these first travelers..."
No, The press meant to applaud their FELLOW TRAVELER.
Yep. We have an objective press(Gaggg!)
