In New Letter, Bill Clinton's Lawyers Say Iger Assured Them Of "Appropriate Edits" And Hammer Film As "Disgraceful"

After watching the first installment of "The Path to 9/11," Bill Clinton's lawyers have written another blistering letter to Disney chief Robert Iger. In the letter -- which we've obtained -- Clinton lawyers Bruce Lindsey and Douglas Band write that they actually spoke to Iger twice and that Iger assured them that he was "personally taking the responsibility to ensure that appropriate edits to the film would be made."
But, the lawyers add: "Having now seen the first night of this fiction, it is clear that the edits made to the film did not address the factual errors that we brought to your attention." The letter concludes that the film does "a disservice to the American people" and is "disgraceful." Full text after the jump.

Dear Bob,
We are deeply disappointed that ABC and the Disney Corporation chose to air "The Path to 9/11." The final product was fraught with error and contained contrived scenes that are directly contradicted by the findings of the 9/11 Commission Report. The film has undoubtedly cemented in millions of viewers' minds a false impression of critical historical events.
While there is not enough room here to fully document the fiction in your film, attached to this letter is a detailed fact sheet listing the numerous inaccuracies in the film according to the 9/11 Commission.
Nine days ago, we wrote to you asking simply that the miniseries tell the truth, as researched extensively and definitively by the bipartisan 9/11 Commission. We asked that your network not present outright fiction as historical fact to the American public. In fact, we took pains to detail sequences in the movie that were plainly invented, based upon the version of the film that was shown to television critics and distributed to many conservative commentators. During our two recent conversations, you assured us that you were personally taking the responsibility to ensure that appropriate edits to the film would be made. Publicly, ABC said that the editing process was ongoing and that it was irresponsible" to condemn the film before seeing the finished product.
Having now seen the first night of this fiction, it is clear that the edits made to the film did not address the factual errors that we brought to your attention. "The Path to 9/11" flagrantly ignored the facts as reported by the 9/11 Commission and invented its own version of history. The result, in our judgment, is irreparable damage to the Commission's work. More importantly, it is a disservice to the American people.
That the film directly contradicts the findings of the 9/11 Commission is troubling. That it defames dedicated public officials is tragic. But the fact that it misleads millions of people about the most tragic and consequential event in recent history is disgraceful.

That's right, Bubba. Three long, threatening letters now, is it? And every single letter not only will draw further historical attention to the very docudrama at which it is aimed, but also is going to be prominently remembered and studied by serious presidential historians forever.

Robert Iger does not care. There is a seqment of American Democrat Jews that have had it with the Democrat Party and Bill Clinton. Who do you think banklrolled this effort. Do you think that Harvey Keitel did not know what he was getting into? Keitel is as sharp as they come. IMHO, someone, I don't know who is trying to destroy the Clinton's and their "traitor/treason Democrat Party. It's not the Republicans, Conservatives, or the VRWC. It's MSM Democrats and Bob Iger is l;eading the pack for whatever the reason. I mean, in reality, Iger had told Bill Clinton and his boys to go pound salt!!! I'll bet there is more to come. My own personal belief, is that a powerful group of American Jews are believing that the Democrat Party is filled with Jew haters and anti-Israel supporters, and they have had it. They have known all along that Bill clinton was thenabler of 911, and now they are sticking him big. Clinton's leagcy is cooked. As always, the truth opts.
Why wasn't Clinton supporting Massood who was fighting the Taliban and Bin Laden? This was a clear case of "fighting the terrorists over there so we don't have to fight them here."
What are they thinking? Why do they want to keep playing with this? What makes them think any of this is going to help restore Bubba's reputation...or for that matter, help Hillary's?

Gosh, I hate to burst your bubble. The woman with whom I work, a far lefty, got so aggravated on Sunday night that she turned off the miniseries. She did watch the whole thing on Monday night. Today all she did was complain about 'Rice and all the other people, like Cheney, sitting around that big table and not doing anything'. She completely ignored the 8 years of Clinton (she loves him!) and blamed the whole thing on the Bush Admin inaction. Just goes to show you that they are oblivious to Clinton's failings.

They won't, because the discovery phase in a civil case would be wide open, and ABC's attorneys would have free reign.

I suspect it wouldn't be too difficult to comp Bill into that assassination film in place of our US President George Bush.
That would be a more appropriate edit, seeing as Bill isn't a current sitting President.
Just the howls from the left would make it more than worth the effort, I'm sure...
Not only was the 9/11 commission report a farce (Jamie Gorelick as commissioner, Ben Vineste as commissioner, etc.), the DISCLAIMER that ABC ran numerous times throughout the film, said it was based in part on the 9/11 commission, plus other sources, plus personal interviews. Clinton's lawyers can go pound sand. They really are afraid that enough people saw it to realize that when a democrat is in office, for the most part, the line: "are there no men left in Washington, only cowards?" is true and on target.
