Former Vice-President Al Gore flew to Canada in order to denounce the Canadian government for its rejection of the Kyoto Treaty. Speaking at a Toronto screening of his movie An Inconvenient Truth, Gore said that Prime Minister Stephen Harpers new climate policy is a complete and total fraud and fundamentally ignorant.
Nowhere in this plan does the Canadian government acknowledge my seminal work on this greatest of crises, Gore complained. Neither does the plan mention that my company, Generation Investment Management (GIM), offers opportunities for ecologically-minded investors. The governments failure to incorporate these facts into its climate planning is designed to mislead the Canadian people.
The Kyoto Treaty calls for advanced economies to severely restrict greenhouse gas emissions in order to combat global warming. If fully implemented, the Kyoto Treaty provisions are expected to reduce global temperatures by about one-half a degree centigrade over the next century.
Global warming deniers who harp on the so-called meager impacts of the Kyoto Treaty miss the point, Gore said. Its the process that is important. Centralizing control of the world economy in the hands of the environmentally enlightened is crucial to the world we are trying to make. Quibbling over a degree here or there wont get us where we want to go. There must be no interference. Everyone must get with the programincluding these Canadian troglodytes.

Please send me a FReepmail to get on or off this Canada ping list.
Believable but it must be satire. I can’t see Manbearpig being that overt.
You, sir, are funny!
It's all about Gore and his pocketbook.
Not satire. Gore is making a practice of travelling to Canada by private executive jet for the purpose of hectoring us about our not fulfilling our obligations to the Kyoto treaty. He is especially critical of the Alberta Tar Sands oil extraction projects.
Never mentioned in stories about Gore's crusade is the fact that the United States symbolically signed the treaty with the full intention of keeping it symbolic and never submitting it to the Senate for ratification. The administrations of Clinton and the Bush the younger have both held back this treaty.
The United States senate had unanimously passed a resolution to the effect that the United States should not enter into global warming treaties that do not bind the developing world as well as the developed world.
Gore should be reminded that a dog sniffs his own arse first.
Yeah, I always have to check to see if it says humor after I read stuff like this. I have been burned more than once on article like this.
Like, wow.
Look carefully at Gore's comment. It's all about him. He feels snubbed.
"You didn't acknowledge my seminal work! You didn't mention my company!"
Al, shut up. We don't want your brand of snake oil.
Another wow.
Where else have you heard the term, "deniers"? The only place I can think of is to describe holocaust deniers. And in many countries, you can be imprisoned for denying -- or even minimizing -- the holocaust.
Do you all see where people like Gore are headed? Think about it, folks. If Gore gets his way, scientists who publicly disagree with him will be locked up.
We gotta pray for this guy.
