> Will the Dan Rather lawsuit trial be televised.
No.
CBS will settle;
which is probably exactly what Dan wants (the money).
CBS can’t afford to be forced (in Discovery) to disclose
what they know about the hoax memos, particulary what
the chain of custody was into CBS.
The DNC might even write the check on behalf of CBS.
Mary Mapes is already coming unglued about the prospect
of the truth coming out.

HELLO KOmmies. Most of you know seem to know the document was faked. Doesn’t that tell you something about Dan Rather who is still insisting it was real? Like.... maybe the guy is incompetent? Or, that he is a liar? Or, that he is biased? Doesn’t it seem obvious he is all three?

dan rather is a patriotic american who is one of the victims of the meida's conspiracy to work with cheney and bush to install a fascist/theocratic state. I don't doubt that Mr. Rather is a patriotic American, in spite of his political leanings. But he's NOT a victim of anything other than his inflated ego.
He held a position of great power and influence. He used that position to influence an election. That's an abuse of power. Fortunately, he got caught and he didn't change the election.
He should sit back, relax, do some fishin'. The present is done with him; time will decide if he gets a footnote in the history books.

Just re-create the documents using a 1970's era typewriter. Show that it also matches the throbbing memo. How hard could that be? Not hard at all; you can pick up one of those typewriters at any thrift store.

The evidence of forgery is overwhelming. Probably planted by Karl Rove to make the story go away, then leaked to LGF and the other Encyclopedia Brownshirts. So overwhelming that a seasoned journalist couldn't catch it. Must be Rove.

[Dust Dan Rather's Selectric balls for Rove's fingerprints.] Thank goodness this DUFU was so late. I wouldn't have been able to hold back my laughter at work.

I will be extremely satisfied if Dan Rather is catalyst for the end of Bush. I predict you will be extremely dissatisfied.
I'd rather bush be a catalyst for my extreme satisfaction.

I saw Rather... He dragged Summer Redstone into the conspiracy. I do not think CBS will settle, after seeing that interview. I think Redstone will try to destroy Rather. Pass the popcorn...

Well, let these bozoids waste time cheering on Gunga Dan.
But I do hafta wonder why the schmuck waited over a year to pull this - did the Abilene Kinko’s go out of business or something?

Hey, i have an IBM Selectric in my garage... I pulled it out when this whole mess started, but sadly it's completely broken. Obviously Rove sneaked into your garage and broke your Selectric. The man is diabolical!

What kind of power do the Bushies have that would make a career journalist, and a good one, lay down and die over such a fraud?Other than the TRUTH.
Better question would be what kind of vendetta does Rather (not) have against the Bush's that would make him throw away a career as a journalist with "fake but accurate" documents.
If memory serves me, he "broke" the story in 2000, which went nowhere, then in 2004, with "funny papers"....

I remember election night in 04. Dan had such a forlorn look on his face when it was obvious that President Bush was re-elected. He looked at the camera and said sadly "Well, I guess that's it."
Objective, professional journalist my a$$. It's all ego. His vanity won't abide history remembering him for lieing about "memogate."

Oh, I dunno. Believing that a simple (albeit large $$) civil tort action can impact the most powerful office in the world is pretty frikkin loony!

Sorry, cut&pasted the wrong quote. Try this one:
"I will be extremely satisfied if Dan Rather is catalyst for the end of Bush."
To: PJ-Comix
have always wondered why Dan Rather, of all people, seemed to fall on his sword over this. Why didn’t he fight back? What kind of power do the Bushies have that would make a career journalist, and a good one, lay down and die over such a fraud? The evidence was flimsy. The sham was apparent. The BS factor was high as it can go, even for MSM. Why would My Man Dan allow his reputation to be so thoroughly trampled by these people? Money and career don’t matter at this point. He’s 70 some years old, right? His name and legacy mean something, right? So anyway, I’m damn thrilled to see him make this move. I’d send him $50 if I thought he needed it for his case. [p]
Could this guy be an LFT?? These seem to be subtle little digs.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Bush signed his DD form 180 and didn’t open his records up to just one lone hometown reporter prone to be favorable to his case.
But the other guy, the guy with the seared memory, I think he’s made promises that still haven’t been kept.
If the DUmmies have a motto, I would say it’s this one from the X-Files:
Believe the lie.
