House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) is blaming a Republican presidential candidate for the racial divide that has emerged between Sens. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) and Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.).
During an interview Friday on MSNBCs Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough, Clyburn pointed the finger at former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) for injecting race into the South Carolina Democratic presidential primary.
I dont want to sound disingenuous here but we were doing well with this whole issue coming out of New Hampshire, Clyburn said, noting that Obama had the support of Reps. Paul Hodes (D-N.H.) and Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.), who are both white.
It was not until Huckabee sort of brought the Confederate battle flag into this thing, Clyburn said. Nobodys been talking about that. And I guarantee you people recoiled when he did. You remember not only did he talk about the flag in a disparaging way but he talked about what the people of Arkansas would do with the pole of the flag...Thats the kind of stuff that brought this back into [the Democratic presidential] campaign and it was not here until he did that.

What???????????
I just hate these people. Dems are the world’s best and blaming others and taking no responsibility whatsoever for various situations. I’m sure they’ll figure out how to drag Bush into this and blame him as well.
Clyburn - what a joke.
LOL! That’s just silly.
Just like a Democrat to want to cover up an important issue until they get a Republican they can blame.
WTF!
LOL!
It will be interesting to see how the Huckaphobes handle this story.
I doubt he meant to do it, but if his silly comment about the flag had the effect of making the democrats start a race war, then good for him.
Blame him for everything for all I care...
Boy did he get that memo wrong!
It reads BUSH, not Mike, you dolt!
If he had just read the script, all would have went as planned.
Clyburn is an idiot.
Even if you think that Huckabee is the worst in the Republican field, you have to agree that this charge is ridiculous.
I don't find it off the wall at all -- I mean in comparison with many of the nutty posts against Huckabee in this forum.
Agreed.
