Have I missed something? McCain has called Obama a celebrity, and that's about as far as he has gone in terms of "character assassination".

On the other hand, Obama has put some pretty nasty words in the mouths of Bush and McCain, trying to make them look like bad people (perhaps even racist). So who's assassinating someone's character?
