Thursday, August 07, 2008 Email to a FriendAdvertisement Americans overwhelmingly believe there is an urgent national need to find new sources of energy, and this need is more important that reducing current energy usage, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

With energy issues taking center stage in the presidential campaign, 81% of Americans see development of new energy sources as an urgent priority. Only 9% disagree.

This will drive a wedge between the Left Greens and the rest of the Democrat party. Who knew a year ago that the price of gas would be THE TOP election issue?

It will be fun to see how Queen Nancy spins this information. Just once, I wish the MSM would quit throwing her marshmallows and ask her why she thinks new drilling would not affect the price of gasoline for 10 years and then only by $.02/gal. Hell, just Bush's Executive Order has sent the price down over $20/bbl.

How about these questions from the MSM:

1. Why is it that Brazil's new Atlantic Ocean oil discovery expects to be online and producing in 18 months but you insist we take 10 years?

2. If it does take 10 years here in the US, how much of that delay is due to legislation you control with the permitting process for everything from power plants to refineries...often a delay of up to 8+ years?

3. With over 80% of the people favoring more drilling, why don't you push legislation that will cut the permit process to a few months, open debate on drilling ANWR, the OCS, and all federal lands in order to give the American people what they want?

I'm guessing her answer might be: "I have a book tour to finish."

“This will drive a wedge between the Left Greens and the rest of the Democrat party.”

That will be hard to do, since the Democrat party agrees wholeheartedly with the Left Greens, and desperately wants their support.

About the same percentage are against amnesty for illegals. Look where it got us. Does the US have any politicians who represent the citizens?

Democrates will have to indeed worship the evil of the greens’ war on the private citizen. That in itself will be wedge enough. THe Obama Hillary dance is just such an example... and it barely has surfaced, because there is an iceberg of data that would make Obama so repulsive that it has not come out for reasons that the party is imploding and only a shell company for keeping revenues for nincompoops.
