The Truth About Obama's forged birth certificate: What Polarik never told you.

Granted, you may find it a little strange for an author to talk about himself in the third person. But, for what I have to say, I should be the one to tell you.

I'm going to share with you everything that there is to know about the infamous image of Obama's alleged "birth certificate. For those FReepers who are new to the forum, or who have only recently started learning about the birth certificate controversy, you will be brought up to speed on one of the most bizarre events in American politics.

For those of you who know me and have closely followed my work, and that of others, much of what I say today will not come as a surprise.

Yet, even they will be shocked, for I intend to talk about things that I have never said before. What this post will not be is anything spiteful or derogatory. I've learned my lesson from my recent meltdown. I will not be cracking on anyone personally or on their work. In fact, I will not even mention them by name. But, you will learn why their work fell by the wayside, and why mine stood the test of time and weathered all attempts to discredit it. I will be telling you all of the facts as I know them. If any toes get stepped on, it will be from the boots of Truth.

One of the most important lessons I learned by conducting this research is that the Leftists who support Obama unconditionally, will not listen to anything you say if it involves Omama, no matter how reasonable, logical, and truthful it may be. Again, I won't mention their names, either -- but, if you do, then I will tell you what I said to them, and what they said to me. As a little hint, one of their names begins with a "K."

First a recap of the past two months. When the image first appeared on the Daily Kos (and then on OBama's website), I was the first person to brand it as a forgery through empirical research. However, before making such a bold claim, I knew that I had to demonstrate how and why Obama's "Certification of Live Birth" image was not a genuine copy.

Here are the "COLB" hard facts (Sorry, couldn't resist.) Discovering that a graphic forgery had been committed, and proving it, are two different things. Before my analyses ever hit the blogsphere, I took many steps to verify my results. The extra work paid off because, at the end of this two-month ordeal of my own making, I'm the last expert still standing.

While other experts have been subsequently discredited, I stood behind my work and weathered the storms of criticism that I knew would come. The most important thing that I wish to acknowledge is that I never did it for glory or media attention. I never ran to anyone else to pimp my story. I never said anything that I knew was false. I never promised one thing and then failed to keep that promise. I never said "Wait for my final report," and then turned tail and hide.

I laid all of my cards on the table. When it came to making my case, I held nothing back, and if I made a mistake, or was in error, I readily admitted it rather than make excuses for it. I kept it real, and never changed the results to fit my conclusions.

Although I'm pleased to say that I was right all along, and that I thoroughly debunked this forgery and the counterarguments of my detractors, I'm still not interested in garnering accolades or seeking media attention. I never had it to begin with so why would I want it now?

Rather, I'd like to think that I played a small part in bringing people to justice for trying to defraud the American public. Yes, there are greater issues at stake than confirming this image document to be a forgery. Yet, it's things like this that speak to the heart of the matter, that reveal the wolf in sheep's clothing, that confirm our worst fears about the most inept, corrupt, and dangerous Presidential candidate in history.

I'm here today to bring everyone up to speed on all that transpired, from June 12 to August 12, in the Obama Birth Certificate controversy. I'm also here to tell you that there were more than a few things that I intentionally held back, but not because I wanted to hide them.

What we know

We now know that there is such a thing as a "Certification of Live Birth," that it is quite different from a regular birth certificate, and that it is what Hawaii now issues in place of one. Before this controversy started, it's doubtful that more than a handful of people, with no ties to Hawaii, had ever seen a COLB.

Nevertheless, this document image drew a lot of criticisms for its content. There were complaints about why the Certificate Number was blacked out. There were complaints about how the race of Obama's father was listed as "African." There were complaints about the lack of relevant information, such as in which hospital (if any) Obama was born. There were questions about his date of birth.

While others were focusing their attention on the content, I was focusing on the structure of the image. This image was being touted as a true reproduction of a paper document. However, I immediately noticed the telltale signs that were indicative of graphic alterations made to an existing image.

While my detractors were trying to explain them away as "artifacts," I was making literally hundreds of test images to prove that these black-and-white pixels were not artifacts, but deliberate alterations.

We now know that long before the Daily Kos COLB image was ever "manufactured," as I called it, there was one, and only one COLB posted on the Net. For identification purposes, I will call this, the PD COLB, and "PD" refers to the initials of the person whose name is on the document.

This fact is significant because I later discovered that the Daily Kos COLB was the "spitting image" of the PD COLB. In other words, the PD COLB was the one used as a template to create the forgery. It was absolutely NOT Maya Soetoro's COLB. Before reaching this conclusion, I tried to replicate the procedures of the person making that claim, as well as using my own methodology. I could not find any evidence that Maya's COLB was used to make the Kos image. But, I was not at all surprised by the lack of confirmation.

To put it mildly, I had doubts about the veracity of the procedures used and the conclusions made, because I had every reason to question the fidelity of the finder. Originally this individual was supposed to work conjointly with me and another blogger who used to frequent FR. The three of us were supposed to produce a joint report -- that is, until that person ran off to Atlas Shruggs to shut us out.

Having him turn renegade on us was not what really bothered me. I was more concerned about how he suddenly became knee-deep in actual paper COLBs and assorted COLB images. I wondered, "Why did he make such low resolution, out-of-focus scans from original paper COLBs? Why were only the 2001 to 2003 COLB scans in such poor shape when all of the 2006 to 2008 COLBs looked exactly the same as Michle's COLB (the only COLB from that later time period)? Why was so little of them shown (I saw only the corners) when Michele's COLB was a full, uncropped scan?

If you're getting the sense that I doubted the existence of all these extra COLBs, then you'd be right on the money. However, I promised to support the work of this person as a favor to other member of this now forgotten trio. I wonder if you really know what it was like for me to be sidelined, while doing my best to keep my suspicions to myself. That is, until now, after the Israel Insider discredited him and he has gone into hiding.

What we don't know (yet)

Over at my Townhall.Com blog, The Greater Evil, I describe the forger as a shadowy character I dubbed, "Dr. X." Some people think that the forger is a member of the Obama campaign. I'd like to think of him as an outsider, but one who has personal ties to someone deep inside the Obama camp. If the Obama camp ever needed to pull a "plausible denyability" scenario out of their bag of tricks, if the sh*t hits the fan, throwing an outsider under the bus would be far more preferable.

Will we ever get to know who is that person? Will he stay hidden in the wings, never to be heard from again? Only time will tell. I would love to find out who did this and why they thought they could pull it off.

Here are my final conclusions

• The Kos COLB image was definitely "manufactured" by a graphics program, most likely Adobe Photoshop. Whether it was scanned directly into Photoshop or saved as a file and then modified, there is no real way to tell.
• Regardless of how the scan got into Photoshop, it was edited as an 8-bit bitmap image. Scanners also produce bitmap images, and unless the user saves the image in a different format, it stays as a bitmap.
• Discovering that the forger worked with an 8-bit bitmap, instead of something like a JPG, fully explains why there were no green shaded pixels between the letters on the forgery. Bitmap palettes are limited to 256 colors - whereas JPG palettes can use up to 16.7 million colors. This restriction in colors is why greenish pixels became those shades of gray.
• The identity of the forger is presently unknown, but who has ties to someone inside the Obama Campaign.
• The complexity of those infamous borders on the Kos image reinforce this conclusion.
• Those wacky borders were made by creating separate "layers," which are analgous to printing on transparencies to be shown on overhead projectors.
• The main layers of this border consisted of one layer of pixel-minimized crosshatching pattern placed on top of a pixelized, background pattern
• That bizarre border really was a big, red herring. It was specifically made to throw experts like me off the track.
• The odd border was more of a curiosity to me than it was a definitive mark of a forgery. This is also the reason why I never included it in my analyses.
• Although I've never seen an actual 2007 border, per se, it would never even remotely resemble this man-made contrivance. I explain why further down on this list.
• Before the Kos COLB image was ever made, the only other COLB image readily available was the PD COLB.
• The Daily Kos COLB image was created by making a semi-transparent layer of the PD COLB, and using it as a template for typing in new information.
• This PD COLB template was used to create everything but the background (the PD COLB background was not clear enough to use).
• A full-size background was constructed using another person's contemporary COLB.
• The filled-in PD COLB layer was then merged with the lower, background layer and "flattened" into one JPG image measuring 5100 x 6600 pixels.
• The "new" Obama COLB image is literally a mirror image of the PD COLB when the width of one is set to the other. This is how I discovered the "missing link."
• A copy of the final image file was then emailed to the contact inside the Obama Campaign, who then emailed a copy of the file to the Daily Kos. Later on, the Kos sent an uncropped copy of it to FactCheck.
• The Kos image was cropped into a square image while FactCheck left theirs alone. The Obama campaign held off posting their copy until after the Kos posted theirs.
• All parties involved in this hoax agreed to let The Daily Kos be the first one to post the image. It was done this way so as to gauge the public's reaction to it before it was posted on Obama's website to "Fight the Smear" about Obama's still not seen birth record.
• When the "Fight The Smears" (FTS) website was created, and after reading mixed reviews from the Kos posting, they posted a much smaller image copy.
• The cropped Kos COLB image was 2427 x 2369 pixels and always stayed the same.
• The FTS website originally posted a smaller copy, measuring 1024 x 1000 pixels, only to be followed by an 585 x 575 pixel reduction that was too small and too compressed to even be read it clearly.
• ALL "Obama" COLB images were copies made from the same, single source file.

I hope that this post puts to rest any and all further posts regarding the forged COLB image controversy. I hoipe to see, instead, where the real Obama COLB is presented to the media for one of many "October surprises" that are waiting in the wings.

I need to make a change to one of the points I made in my post.

I said in that post that the border on the Kos image was a red herring because someone created it as a diversion.

After careful consideration, a much simpler scenario as to why this border looks different from all other COLB borders, is that it is different. However, the forger of the image did some modifications to the border such that it looks like it was the last piece added. What I see when looking at the Kos COLB border is an image that had its hue, saturation, contrast, and brightness levels modified in addition to saving it as a JPG file with a 45% compression ratio.

The technical stuff is not crucial to one's understanding that the Obama COLB image was deliberately constructed from two real COLBS, one belonging to PD's 2002 COLB image, and the other belonging to a "as yet unnamed" contributor.

Although I do not know the identity of the person listed on the 2007 COLB image, I can say with 100% certainty that it was not Maya Soetoro.

A real 2007 border versus a bogus one does not affect my findings at all because I've said all along that the border pattern is of no research value to me. What's inside the borders is what matters to me.

This change of heart, so to speak, further strengthens my research findings in several respects. For one thing, by my second blog post, I decided that the border was an oddity, but one that did not pose any problems for my conclusions.

A real border actually simplifies them, because I had a little trouble imagining that a forger would intentionally screw up a border. Many of you had voiced similar concerns, and they were taken to heart.

Before making allowances that the Kos image border was a real one, I had assumed that the border and the background were a packaged deal; that is, both were copied from a real COLB image at the same time.

Before accepting the possibility that the border was real, however, I had to listen to everyone else bitching about the border being bogus, and criticizing me for ignoring it.

So, I decided to go along with the consensus opinion that the borders were bogus, too. However I never agreed with TechDude's singular focus on the borders (and that phantom missing border). Apparently, quite a few blogs bought into it as well.

Meanwhile, the pro-Obama detractors were also focusing on the borders, but for different reason. They were the ones saying that it was a vintage, 2007 border.

From the beginning, I kept emphasizing the pixel halos around the text were a sure sign that they had been added to an existing image. It took me awhile to identify that image, and when I learned that it matched the Kos on all of its printed areas, it didn't matter whether the border was a part of it or not.

To me, the border was still a red herring, but nobody else agreed with me, so I went along with the group.

The Kos image border still looks messed up, real or not, because its quality looks worse than the background it sits upon, and that's why people probably thought it was bogus (that, and the fact that no one had ever seen a 2007 COLB). The border could very well have been added as the last piece of the puzzle. One reason why the border was added last (from a real 2007 COLB) is because the border on the original template image (made from PD's COLB) had distortions in it from the folds.

And, of course, it came from a totally different time period.

Hopefully, the MSM will ignore those who have come and gone before me, who left a trail of false conclusions in their wake.

If they can do that, then perhaps they will refer to my research for a change.
