Diner. Great flick. Great quote: You know what word Im not comfortable with? Nuance. Its not a real word. Like gesture. Gestures a real word. With gesture you know where you stand. But nuance? I dont know. Maybe Im wrong.
Liberals like the idea of nuance. John Kerry was superior to Bush because he was more nuanced. Now Obamas positions are more informed than McCains because Barry is more nuanced. (Or so says Andrea Mitchell.) Of course the corollary to that, not explicitly stated, but implied to those knowing, intelligent, lefty viewers, is that the conservative base (in the Saddleback forum, evangelicals) are too stupid and rigid to appreciate nuance. Andrea, I have a news flash for you: when it comes to certain issues, like national security, most Americans dont want nuance. We know that our friends understand our blunt, outspoken American talk, and our enemies see nuance for what it is: weakness.

I met Andrea Mitchell in The White House Briefing Room once. She has a huge head. Wow. I mean she has a big head, literally. That is some melon. I caught myself staring at her.
I guess she has a more nuanced head?
Big thinker ?
when the MSM says Barry is “Thoughtful’ and gives ‘Nuanced’ answers, what they are really saying is that his answer to that question was just plain BS. Here in flyover country ‘nuance’=B.S.
Bravo! Nuance is like a semantical argument.
Another word I don’t like is “context.” It’s used when someone gets busted or caught in an out-and-out lie and then they say, “But you took me out of context.”
Maybe if I understood nuance better, I would take people out of context. Do ya think?

So Obama's answer on abortion was shaded. Shady is as shady does.
So, saying the abortion issue is “above my pay grade” is more nuanced than...what? It is as we suspect. When a media blah-blah says a Democrat is “nuanced,” what they mean is either a) He’s full of s***; or b) I have no idea what he meant by what he just said.
Nuance = malarky. Can we get the Mad Hatter in here? Say what you mean!
My brother in law made the same observation regarding Andrea when he met her. In reality he said her head is normal, her neck, shoulders and rest of her are this size of a 10 year old.
;D!
"Gesture" isn't much of a word either.
Now "porterhouse." There's a word.
Or "crankcase."
He’s right. She looks like a human bobble doll. It is very odd.
Sort of like when someone "misspoke" thats another good one!
nu·anceI fail to understand why either party would praise this type of speech. It is all about saying one thing and meaning something slightly different.
noun, plural -anc·es
1. a subtle difference or distinction in expression, meaning, response, etc. 2. a very slight difference or variation in color or tone.Related forms
nuanced, adjectiveSynonyms 1. subtlety, nicety, hint, refinement.
When you’re right, you’re right. Nuance is for French people; gesture is for Italians. Americans? We’ll just punch your lights out.
