Figures. Michelle Obama Quotes Lines From "Rules For Radicals" In Her DNC Convention Speech

Michelle Obama quotes lines some radical Far Left book in her DNC Convention speech.

What to make of Michelle Obama's use the terms, “The world as it is” and “The world as it should be?” From whence do they originate? Try Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals. In last night's speech, Michelle Obama said something that peeked my curiousity. She said:

"Barack stood up that day," talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, "and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about “The world as it is” and “The world as it should be..."

And, "All of us driven by a simple belief that the world as it is just won’t do – that we have an obligation to fight for the world as it should be."
Here’s an excerpt from Chapter 2 of Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals:

"The means-and-ends moralists, constantly obsessed with the ethics of the means used by the Have-Nots against the Haves, should search themselves as to their real political position. In fact, they are passive — but real — allies of the Haves…The most unethical of all means is the non-use of any means... The standards of judgment must be rooted in the whys and wherefores of life as it is lived, the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be."
Hat Tip Andy Bryant

It's just a guess but maybe she heard it at church?

Both Michelle and Obama are militant, anti-American maxists. They are radicals, trained in the Saul Alinsky mold...and firm believers in it.

The world as it is, with American being the becon of hope to the world with the strongest founding princples and moral values, the freest, most propserous, most powerful, greatest force for good Republic the world has ever known is something they want to change.

The world as it should be, according to them, would see America toppled, her liberty, her prosperity, her impact for good, and her power crippled and replaced by a MArxistic society engrafted into an internaional order of their own making.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

In the World as it should be, we should be left alone by know-it-all elitists.

the world as it is, not our wished-for fantasy of the world as it should be."

I suspect that this was just "code talk" to the radicals to let them know that the Obamas still support their cause and all this other "just a mom" stuff is for the benefit of the sheeple.

The poorest and least affluent people in America still have a better lifestyle and better prospects for success than some of the most affluent people in third world countries.

Liberals will not be satisfied until the make America weak, vulnerable, poor and oppressed.

Sounds like a rejection of a Christian worldview --

Pay no attention to what God calls upon us to do, pay no attention to the world as it should be, just ignore the Creator. Instead, focus on the creation. See the world as it is, and revel in the squalor, and use it in your quest for earthly power.

I’d like to point out that the passage from the Saul Alinsky book is interpreted by the Liberation Theologists as saying that the oppressed peoples of the world can be judged guilty of no sin, other than failing to fight against the oppression of the White Western culture of capitalism.

This was the key part of the speech, the only part that promised substance about Obama's life, "Where is the beef?", but copped out. Mrs. Obama's version of the neighborhood pep talk was a variation of RFK's "...but I see the world as it should be, and ask, why not?" (which RFK plagiarized, appropriately enough).

I suspect that BHO's pitch to that hard-pressed crowd was straight from the Alinsky hand-book: "We're going to hit them and hit them hard."

Someone should interview some of the neighborhood people present at that and other meetings, and what actions they took and what results they got.

In the words of George Orwell's 1984 — “Right thinking will be rewarded, wrong thinking punished.”

The Obama’s idea of “right thinking” is fascist, elitist and dangerously anti-American!

I can't stop thinking about the pendulum...how far do we need to go with “progress”? Until the entire US is completely reshaped and the Government controls every aspect of our lives? That is no longer a Republic.

What? Radicals have rules? But I thought they wanted to live in a world without rules. Rules oppress. That doesn’t sound like “freedom” to me. /sarc

Maybe Joe “Plugs” Biden helped her write the speech. He wouldn’t steal anyone’s words, would he?

I have a feeling that you may be right, coded words or a "dog whistle", as the left likes to say. This is Steve Ralls on The Huffington Post.

It's interesting that none but the far left heard this in her speech.

Words matter, and Michelle Obama is a woman of powerful words.

Last night, in a passionate address to the Democratic National Committee's Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council, Mrs. Obama delivered a rousing call-to-equality and put her husband on record as a fighter for the full equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans. "Barack believes," she said, "that we must fight for the world as it should be, a world where we work together to reverse discriminatory laws."

Invoking "those who marched and bled and died, from Selma to Stonewall," Michelle implored Democrats to continue those early crusaders' march "in the pursuit of a more perfect union."

And it was unions, no doubt, that were on the minds of the LGBT audience that Michelle was reaching out to. With marriages under way in California, and a national debate about marriage equality for all couples taking place in living rooms and legislatures from coast to coast, many in the gay community are looking and listening to see if Obama will stand up strongly for our families or allow the country to be divided and conquered over the issue once again.

The question, for many gay voters, boils down to whether the Obamas can change the tone of the conversation, within the country and the party, about what it means to be equal and free?

According to Michelle, yes, they can.

Within her remarks to the GLCC last night, Mrs. Obama shared an extraordinary insight i

Waitaminnit!

This Obama dude is running for President of our nation right?

What’s he doing talking about the “world”?

He has bigger and better plans for himself?

Sounds more like old newsfilm of Hitler....

The speech was about nothing. Platitudes and pablum family sentiments made it clear that O should stay in his pay grade and run for PTA president, a job for whidch he barely qualifies.
