DENVER -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.
"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."
Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama's ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.
The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.
Obama critics were quick to suggest that political clout could be involved in seeking to protect Obama from embarrassment. The school later reserved its position and made the records available Tuesday.
On Wednesday evening, Obama's campaign urged supporters to call the radio station to complain.

Jeezy Peezy ... What's the jerk going to do when confronted with real world issues... whine to a committee to handle it for him????
He tried to get the Justice Dept to block the ad about Ayres. He is trying to shut Stanley Kurtz up. Why the panic? As someone said on NRO, no wonder he went over so big in Germany.
A good friend of mine knows a woman who said she has spent 16 hour days in Indiana signing up Homeless people to vote for Barack Obama.

After 7 years of baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears, pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Bushco and 9/11- they have a problem with Ayers? Oh how totally unfair. 7 years to 2 hours wow(insert big roll eyes). We need to give ‘Bama at least 4 years in the White House with Hillary as AG to keep the playing field even(sarc).
I only hope McLame picks a reasonable VP, because Obama is acting like a fascist thug. He needs to be stopped.
I just finished listening to the WGN conversation with Stanley Kurtz.
I encourage everyone to listen to it and to tell your friends to do the same.
I heard of a new group that needs to be exposed-Gamaliel Foundation.
Here is the link to the WGN podcast of the program.

The Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy (VRWC) has spread even to the New York Times, which is airing the same baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smear, and it spread that smear quite appropriately on September 11, 2001! "I don't regret setting bombs," Bill Ayers said. "I feel we didn't do enough." Anyone can find documentation for the rest of the charges in other mainstream media outlets of record, from the WaPo to Time and Newsweek. The VRWC has been so effective on this topic that I haven't fact checked a single Obama-Ayers smear that I had trouble verifying in liberal sources. Somehow the VRWC even co-opted Obama himself to support the charges in his autobiographical books, although The One's recent comments leave me wondering how a man Obama barely knew made it into Obama's autobiography.
I use to work at the Gamaliel foundation, What do you want to know?
