But Mom! Everybody does it! Remember using that tactic as a kid when you're parents criticized your participation in the latest craze or fad? Pretty immature, wasn't it? Well, the press is employing that same tactic to defend their candidate's multiple "present" votes in the Illinois Senate. Check this out from the Leftist Press: Palin was referring to Obama's days in the Illinois Senate, when he voted "present" dozens of times among the thousands of votes he cast in his eight years there. The move is common among Illinois lawmakers, but has become a favorite Republican complaint about Obama. This is what's wrong with Washington The Obama sycophant who wrote the article signed off with a subtle dig: "We don't have a 'present' button as governor - we are expected to lead..." said Palin, who is in her first term as Alaska's governor.
See how they blithely explain it away? It was only dozens of times out of thousands of votes... And anyway, everybody does it! Instead of calling out weasel lawmakers, like it did back in the day, the press covers for them! She did not take questions from reporters.
How dare Ms. Palin employ an Obama tactic!
I suppose you could use the word “dozens”. It was about a dozen dozens.

Ahh.. the Clown Prince isn’t so special after all is he?
...almost 11 dozen times.
So the press finally admits that Obama is a typical “Illinois lawmaker”. I.e. a corrupt political hack who’s just a tool of the Cook County machine.
Thanks for clearing that up!
I find the argument completley convincing, and I agree: Obama is just like every other hack politician.
Still waiting for a Messiah...
I read somewhere that one of the bills that zerObama voted ‘present’ on was to raise the dog license fee from $10 to $15. I can see that’s a tough decision, and you might be afraid to commit one way or another.
Someone needs to research all of the 130 or so ‘present’ votes, and shuttle them to McCain & Palin so they can incorporate them into some debate answers or something. I’m sure there’s gold in there somewhere!
