Will The Most Damaging Obama Scandal Of Them All Be Buried Alive?
Radarsite ^ | 15 Sep 08 | Roger W. Gardner

Posted on 09/16/2008 12:36:00 PM PDT by Roger W. Gardner

Here is an excerpt from Susan Duclos' 15 September blockbuster article on Obama's attempted manipulation of GIs troop withdrawals from Iraq for his own political purposes.

Iraqi government sources have revealed to the New York Post that Presidential candidate Barack Obama demanded Iraqi officials stop negotiations with the Bush Administration to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq. Fearful that the success in Iraq would harm his political aspirations, Obama sought to keep U.S. troops in Iraq so he can continue attacking the Bush Administration for not imposing a timetable for withdrawal.
And from the New York Post

Maliki's advisers have persuaded him that Obama will win - but the prime minister worries about the senator's "political debt to the anti-war lobby" - which is determined to transform Iraq into a disaster to prove that toppling Saddam Hussein was "the biggest strategic blunder in US history." [...]

Obama has given Iraqis the impression that he doesn't want Iraq to appear anything like a success, let alone a victory, for America. The reason? He fears that the perception of US victory there might revive the Bush Doctrine of "pre-emptive" war - that is, removing a threat before it strikes at America. Despite some usual equivocations on the subject, Obama rejects pre-emption as a legitimate form of self -defense. To be credible, his foreign-policy philosophy requires Iraq to be seen as a failure, a disaster, a quagmire, a pig with lipstick or any of the other apocalyptic adjectives used by the American defeat industry in the past five years. ---------------------------------------------------- Here's Radarsite's original comment to Susan's 15 September posting: This could be, should be, the biggest story of the campaign. This more than any other scandal, or rumor of scandal should be the end of Barack Hussein Obama. However -- and this is a huge 'However' -- will the media give it the attention it so obviously deserves? Or will they bury it under a mass of propaganda and lies? Or, worse still, will they just try to ignore it? This is going to be a test of wills. The will of the American people versus the will of the media elite and the Internationalist, anti-Americanist Obama crowd. This should be, must be the most important story in this election. If we are to stand a chance of keeping our great country free and American, we simply cannot allow this monumental scandal to be swept under the rug.

It is now the morning of 16 September. And how is this major Obama scandal, this biggest story of the 2008 presidential campaign being covered? To see for myself I checked in on the latest editions of FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and the Chicago Sun Times. And what did I discover? Did I find it 'buried under a mass of propaganda and lies' as I suspected it might be? Was it relegated to the bottom of the page after the latest Oprah interview? No, it simply was not there. What could very well be the most important and damaging story of this entire election campaign and it is just not there. Nothing. Not even a mention. A presidential candidate, who has passionately campaigned on the promise of immediate withdrawal of all American forces from Iraq, who has no legal authority whatsoever to negotiate on behalf of the United States, particularly when these negotiations were carried out in secret, we now discover had been surreptitiously attempting to pressure the Iraqi Government into delaying the departure of American troops to further his own personal political aims and not one of these major news outlets decided to cover the story.

This, then, is what it boils down to. It really is going to be us versus them. Us, the American people versus the leftist, Bush-hating, antiwar, elitist media, and the powerful Obama machine. They will purposely ignore it and hope it goes away. They will be counting on our proverbial short attention span. They are gambling that we will quickly lose interest in this story and move on to the next Oprah interview, or become so totally consumed in the possible Wall Street meltdown that we will just forget all about it.

But we won't, will we? What Barack Obama purportedly did in secret in Iraq was inexcusable, cynical, immoral, and quite possibly a crime. And we, the American people will see that this latest and most outrageous scandal will not be swept under the rug. Barack Obama must be brought to justice. Before the election. We must not, we can not let up. Our whole future is at stake.-rg

Hopefully FoxNews — Brit Hume and the nightly panel will discuss it. Maybe Glen Beck will, too. It should make headlines at The Boston Herald, NPost, WashTimes. But maybe it’s not as important as Bush/McCain bashing over the banking/mortgage crisis. After all, they have to think of some way to lift Obama in the polls.

Unless this is on video tape and certified by NASA to be accurate, I doubt if the MSM does anything but plays cover to Obama on this.

MSM buried enough Clinton scandals to bring down 10 GOP presidencies —They will do the same for Obama

Agreed.

No tape. No story.

It’s DOA without proof.

I'm surprised this has dropped out of sight.... NOT.

The MSM is going to avoid this at all costs, as they are too busy investigating tanning beds in the Alaska Governor's mansion. This won't become an issue unless McCain/Palin makes it an issue.

I hope they are producing a campaign spot about it. The best of all worlds would be if someone could dig up a video tape of that press conference back in June where Obama essentially confirmed Taheri's claim.

The MSM couldn't ignore it, then. If nothing else, they'd try to find fault with it -- but with Obama on record saying exactly the same thing, they'd have to really spin it hard.

Nancy Pelosi got away with what was a crime by going to Syria and circumventing/undermining the executive branch, but that was less significant than this and she wasn’t running for President.

This must be blown wide open. If a formal complaint isn’t being made to DOJ, something is very, very wrong.

Would Obama's own words suffice?

http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/06/16/1146329.aspx

[Obama] said he told Zebari that negotiations for a Status of Forces agreement or strategic framework agreement between the two countries should be done in the open and with Congress's authorization and that it was important that that there be strong bipartisan support for any agreement so that it can be sustained through a future administration. He argued it would make sense to hold off on such negotiations until the next administration.

"My concern is that the Bush administration--in a weakened state politically--ends up trying to rush an agreement that in some ways might be binding to the next administration, whether it was my administration or Sen. McCain's administration," Obama said. "The foreign minister agreed that the next administration should not be bound by an agreement that's currently made."

Maybe someone does have the videotape. But, Obama's campaign has already made the claim that they were discussing the "strategic framework", instead of the "status of forces". The above cite says that they were discussing both.

Rush read a press release from the Obama campaign that virtually confirmed the story. Not what they intended but that is what happened.

From yesterday's show:

RUSH: Amir Taheri today in the New York Post, a damning piece, but typical. This tells us everything we want to know about The Messiah, Barack Obama, the Lord, the Most Merciful One. "While campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence. According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July." Mike, grab One Night in Baghdad from the parody archive songs from Shanklin. Let me know when you've dug it out there. "'He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,' Zebari said in an interview. Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops -- and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its 'state of weakness and political confusion.' ... Obama has made many contradictory statements with regard to Iraq. His latest position is that US combat troops should be out by 2010. Yet his effort to delay an agreement would make that withdrawal deadline impossible to meet. ... According to Zebari, the envisaged time span is two or three years -- departure in 2011 or 2012. That would let Iraq hold its next general election, the third since liberation, and resolve a number of domestic political issues. Even then, the dates mentioned are only 'notional,' making the timing and the cadence of withdrawal conditional on realities on the ground as appreciated by both sides."

Now, you might be saying, "What's the big deal about this?" Well, two things. Number one, Obama has been clamoring for these troops to get out of there now, now, now. Obama was part of the cabal that wanted defeat of the US military this year. He wanted defeat of the US military this year. He wanted them out this year. He wanted to hang defeat around the neck of George W. Bush and run against that. Now all of a sudden he wants a delay in the withdrawal of troops so that he can say he did it and fulfill a campaign pledge to the kook fringe. What does this remind you of? Here we have a genuine October Surprise story. Remember when they falsely accused George Bush 41 of going over to Paris to make sure the Iranians kept the US hostages until after the November election 1980 so that Reagan would get the credit. There was never any basis for that story, just the seriousness of the charge, there was never any basis to the truth of that story and yet here's Obama doing exactly what Democrats accused George Bush 41 of doing in 1980. What a slimeball! You people on the left, do you understand your guy wants troops in Iraq until at least 2012 now, if out then, so that he can be the guy in charge of saying "I got 'em out." I guess now we know what Obama did One Night in Baghdad.

Parody: One Night In Baghdad | Shanklin

We knew that Obama's summer trip was bad, but we had no idea he was playing games with our troops for his benefit. So he goes to Berlin, he trashes the country, skipped a visit to wounded soldiers when he was in Berlin, let's not forget this. And now we found out he's playing games with the lives of our troops, maybe even a Logan Act violation, going there and asking the Iraqi guy, as a mere senator, "Hey, can't you delay your political action here?" That trip overseas was a disaster. It was beginning of the end of the bloom coming off the rose. This is not experience, this is not judgment, this is change, but it's breaking a law and his faith with his followers and our troops. Barack Obama asking the Iraqi foreign minister to keep US troops longer than the commanders on the ground think they are needed. Stop and think of that!

great list - two caveats:
One. I do not gives a heads up on ANYthing to O’Reilly anymore - he's jumped the shark.

Two: they will not look at mass mailings - so only put ONE address in the "to" line - and then click on the “to Bcc” at the end of the line and enter the rest in the BCC line just above the subject line. That way, each recipient will only see their address.

Mr. Ray and All,
TREASON is right.
At the very least, this has to FReeped to every major newspaper in the form of a letter to the editor. It needs to be phoned into talk radio and emailed to everyone you know.

This has to made into series of juxtaposing his formal stance of anti-war and our country’s policies. He has become a major threat and embarassment to our troops and this country.
