Relax, people. McCain did fine.
Re: Ayers. If McCain flogs that too enthusiastically hes screwed. Obama already won a couple of news cycles last week when he painted McCain as unconcerned about the economy and wanting to debate something that happened 40 years ago.

Not gonna go there...
B.S. First of all, McCain hasn’t been focusing all his attention on Ayers. I didn’t do a scientific study or anything, but I hear him harping on tax cuts, fat cats, mortgage bailouts, and earmarks in stump speeches and on ads all the time. Why does the media, liberal and un-liberal, pick up every little morsel Obama drops and say, “Yum.”? Can’t a campaign address more than one issue at a time?
Secondly, Obama did not win points for accusing McCain of ignoring the economy. Obama keeps winning points so long as the economy is bad, no matter what McCain says (why? because McCain is ignorant economically and the public is too ignorant to realize that government is to blame). Remember McCain’s call to suspend the debate? That was McCain paying a whole lotta attention to the economy. It didn’t help his cause.
He needs to look at the Real Clear Polling data Obama has taken a hit on the Ayers negative ads they are working!
And Ace does not seem to get this point.
He thinks that the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac thing is the most important issue, when it’s already been defined for 2-3 weeks beforehand.
McCain’s best cards include ACORN and Joe the Plumber. But, then again, that’s kinda all he may need.
