Skip to comments.Dr. Kate - "Stand By Me"

We won't know until Monday the earliest if the Supreme Court will consider the petition brought before it by attorney Leo Donofrio (see post below this one). But today a verbal firestorm has erupted in the blogosphere, with scores of bloggers taking sides, and hundreds of their readers debating the argument in the comments sections.
All that is well and good. People are talking about it. It should and must be discussed. Far too little of that has taken place, much to our nation's peril. Time is of the essence -- a mere nine days remain before the Electoral College casts its votes to determine our next President.
I just read a thoughtful and eloquently written piece by "Dr. Kate" that lays out the whole Constitutional shebang - relative to whether Barack Obama does or does not -- by birth -- meet the eligibility requirement of Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.
"Stand By Me" appears at Texas Darlin, a blogsite that has been providing thorough coverage of the lawsuits that have been brought forward that are challenging Obama to produce proof that he is a natural born citizen of the United States.
I'm excerpting some of Dr. Kate's work here, but please click over and read the entire piece. It is logically and simply presented, and easy to understand. These excerpts are here to whet your appetite, but I won't be offended if you click over to Texas Darlin right now. As American citizens, it is a nutritional feast, replete with knowledge we must ingest into our marrow if we are to be a healthy republic.
The Constitution. The 4,400 words, just words, in the document that became the founding guide for governance of We the People in these United States of America. Stand by me, this living document beckons to us now. Stand up and stand by me.
That our Constitution is a living document is proven by its 28 Amendments and the number of legislative and Executive branch rules and actions that have been scrutinized, upheld, or dismissed by the U.S. Supreme Court for lack of consistency with the Constitution. No matter the political upheaval.
The Constitution: this is what is at stake in this election if we do not stand up and mandate that Barack Hussein Obama prove he is eligible under the U.S. Constitution to serve as President of the United States.
It is not about the birth certificate .it is about citizenship and who is eligible to hold the office of President of the United States right now, in 2008. It is not about race , affirmative action, or the popular vote. It is about the rule of law, a nation of laws, and our Constitution.
Before I begin this essay, I want to speak to the many naysayers, disbelievers, and those who are simply anguished, and who (a) doubt the validity of the lawsuits, or criticize the attorneys involved, and who (b) doubt that, or would be surprised if, the Supreme Court will do anything on this issue. Many are thinking the Court will want to avoid civil unrest and believe that it will succumb to public pressure, the standing issue, the popular vote, or the procedural errors, and dismiss the cases outright. Many people have forgotten that the Supreme Court has historically and knowingly taken on controversial issues despite the perceived threat or reality of civil unrest. Think of the civil rights cases.
To me this disbelief or surprise is a telling sign, as it reveals in part how little people understand or know of the history of the U.S. Constitution in our founding as a structure for governance, nor the laws, amendments, decisions, and proceedings that mark our growth as a Nation. Fundamentally, though, the despair reveals a loss of trust in our national government, our legal system, and our political systems, resulting in a cynicism that threatens our very existence as a Nation. Right. Now.
As I worked on this article, I have been humbled to read The Federalist Papers, The Living U.S. Constitution, and dozens of links posted here from readers about the vision and viability of a United States of America and scholars view of its meaning and interpretation over time. It occurred to me in doing this research that it appears that our educational system has failed in the last several decades to inform and educate the citizenry about the Constitution, the responsibilities of citizenship, and the history of and progress of our Nation. This is a major reason why there is a dearth of interest in the Constitutional eligibility of Obama, and ridicule of anyone interested in the issue.
And, if we had been more aware of our Constitution and the laws of our country, we would have collectively spotted Obama as ineligible for POTUS more than two years ago. The signs of Obamas deceit have been plainly out in the open: his claim to be a citizen under the 14th Amendment; his admission that he was born of dual citizenship; the sealing of all of his records and refusal to release his long-form certificate of live birth, and his endless autobiographies about his Kenyan father; his travels to Pakistan; and his adoption in Indonesia. While our lack of knowledge does not absolve Obama, the DNC, the RNC and Congress from doing their job in verifying his eligibility, the lack of awareness on the part of the American public, the media narrative, the money, and Obamas seeming collusion with Congress has left us in a very uncomfortable position nowfacing the dissolution of our Union.
Dr. Kate at Texas Darlin. Feast on her wisdom. Feed your mind.
Thanks for the ping BonRad

Thank you for the Ping. A wonderful article!
I am listening to Plains now with Rev. Manning. :)
All very sobering. I am reading Mein Kampf again. The footnotes, written in hindsight by an historian show frightening similarities. Hitler glossed over his background, played the victim to cover his very obvious shortcomings, lied about when his mother died, maligned his father, was a total failure at school and was asked to leave, described himself as a talented artist - whilst living in state accommodation for the homeless...avoided registering for military service by constantly moving across the border...
...and I'm only up to page 28!
“It is not about race, affirmative action, or the popular vote.”
Sadly it may boil down to this,,,
Mob Rule/Will Of The People,,,
Those three sentences in bold italics in your post # 4 are a capsule summary of what these cases questioning Obama's constitutional eligibility for POTUS are all about and what they are not about.
The Left all too frequently obfuscates the legal issue by purported "thinking" with its collective hearts, rather than its collective heads. The result is merely propaganda and misinformation that is swallowed up by the ignorant masses.
MUST READ PING!! Thanks for the ping BR!
Many thanks for the Ping, LucyT
Have you read this?
Thanks for the ping.
Before I begin this essay, I want to speak to ... those who are simply anguished, and who ... doubt that, or would be surprised if, the Supreme Court will do anything on this issue. Many are thinking the Court will want to avoid civil unrest and believe that it will succumb to public pressure, the standing issue, the popular vote, or the procedural errors, and dismiss the cases outright.
***I admit I’m one of those who have less hope than this good Doctor.
Many people have forgotten that the Supreme Court has historically and knowingly taken on controversial issues despite the perceived threat or reality of civil unrest.
***It’s not that I’ve forgotten. It’s that I’ve noticed the Supremes having plenty of courage when it came to liberal issues, but we see them splitting the baby when it comes to conservative issues. For instance, the Kelo decision, and the invention of a right to kill unborn babies.
Sadly, we are PASSED the point of no return and all this will do, when it comes to naught, is confirm the reality of how far past we really are. I long to eat these words. But, I will never taste the sweetness. America is dead.
The rule of law was abandoned during the Clinton regime.
It has been replaced by the rule of judges.
The phrases now are: “The will of the people.” Affirmative action. Fair share. Every vote counts.
All of the above so long as they benefit the Democrat Party.
On November 4, 2008 the United States of America committed suicide.
Reading ti right now as I listen to a talk program ... thanks for the ping. So far, it sounds like something I would like to have written.
Can’t get plain radio (Or videos) on my slow dial up....If anything really important is revealed please post it.
“People are talking about it. It should and must be discussed.”
I had the pleasure just last evening discussing this issue with our Boy who is in Government class at his high school. He mentions they are discussing the Constitution in his classes. Although he admits the issue with Obama is a brief one at the moment. He and I are sure it will gain more momentum once the SCOTUS ruling comes down. I’m also quite sure this topic is most probably being discussed in every school across the nation.
Remember also that there is still a question as to Obamas birthplace. If he was indeed born outside the United States to the married couple Ann Dunham and Barack Senior, his mother was not old enough to pass on to him U.S. citizenship at birth. In this instance, then, Barack Hussein Obama would have been born a British National (1961), then a Kenyan citizen (1963), and would have only acquired U.S. citizenship through some affirmative act of law, such as naturalization, and would not be entitled to be called a natural-born citizen.
Going back to finish the essay now ...
Finished reading it and realized that it resounded with me to such a degree because I have written much of the same things, at my blogpage and here on Freerepublic! [http://www.porchmaunderings.blogspot.com]
Very similar.....keep up the good work!
America is NOT dead. Not as long as we breathe and are willing to fight to keep her. Why do give up so easily?
We’ve only just begun the fight. Get a grip, and get moving. We’ve lots of work to do. Fight to the last breath.
The defeatists need to get a grip or get out of our way.
