Barack Obama denies having contact with the indicted Illinois governor who tried to sell his old Senate seat yet the president elects top advisor revealed last month that the men, longtime political pals, had in fact spoken about a replacement.
When a massive federal indictment charging Rod Blagojevich with multiple corruption counts was made public yesterday, Camp Obama suddenly diagnosed the second-term Democrat governor with political plague. The nations soon-to-be commander-in-chief claimed to barely know his close political ally.
After all, who wants to be connected to a notoriously crooked politician who just got arrested and charged with selling the influence of his office, lucrative state jobs and contracts to the highest bidders? Prosecutors say Blagojevich also tried getting a cabinet-level position in Obamas new administration in exchange for appointing a union-preferred candidate to replace him in the Senate.
Blagojevich and Obama go back years and Obama, not only endorsed both of Blagojevichs gubernatorial campaigns, he served as a top advisor in the first one in 2002. A couple of years

CHICAGO, ILL. Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
That’s one of Obamas first priorities today.
He’s meeting with Governor Rod Blagojevich this afternoon in Chicago to discuss it.

QUINCY, IL Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S. Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.
Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it. ...
On that note, I'm not sure I see what's wrong with him meeting with Blago to discuss this. Apparently there's something I'm missing because his first reaction to this situation was to lie about meeting with Blago. I chalked that up to a near pathological impulse to lie about anything.
Is there some statute or angle I'm missing here? If I was in his position, I know I'd try to have input on my successor.

The point is, Obama has denied that he has discussed the Senate seat issue with Blag-o.
this is just as plain as the nose on your face. Remember this? YOU ARE JUDGED BY THE COMPANY YOU KEEP. And the O has not been keeping very good company..Rev Wright, Ayers, now Bobby Boy just to name a few. There are countless others. When you lay with dogs, you get flees. And the O is infested.
Is there any type of log of visitors?
Of course you are. Everyone knows (well, certainly not everyone, but those plugged in enough to know about this caper) about Wright, Ayers, Pfleger, et al.
But why not just say "Of course I talked with him. He obviously didn't ask me for a bribe, I had no idea that was going on. He wouldn't ask me he knows I'm on the straight and narrow, everybody knows that!"
That would have been SO much better than "I didn't meet with him... oh, that's a mistake... really? Okay I did... I just um... forgot." That's not believable to anyone but the most dead-end of the Obama-bots.
The more I think about this, the significance is yet another piece of evidence that he's a pathologic.

Is somebody trying to imply that Zero is a brazen liar?
Say it ain’t so, Zero!
Exactly, he's getting rather Clintoneque in that regard - he's lying when the truth would do just fine in this case.
BUMP!

Now on the web site:
KHQA TV wishes to offer clarification regarding a story that appeared last month on our website ConnectTristates.com. The story, which discussed the appointment of a replacement for President Elect Obamain the U.S. Senate, became the subject of much discussion on talk radio and on blog sites Wednesday.
The story housed in our website archive was on the morning of November 5, 2008. It suggested that a meeting was scheduled later that day between President Elect Obama and Illinois Governor Blagojevich. KHQA has no knowledge that any meeting ever took place. Governor Blagojevich did appear at a news conference in Chicago on that date.

I’m sure the goobers at the TV station will say nothing unless Obammie authorizes them to do so.
It’s like Nazi Germany all over again.
One would assume that the post holder would discuss his replacement with the one who has the power to appoint the replacement. In Alaska there is now a special election to fill a vacated Senate post.
