If you have a few minutes, would you please participate in taking this survey ? This seventh grader has set the bar high for herself; she's shooting for a minimum of 500 participants.

Thank you in advance. I'll be forwarding her the results. :)

You should set it up for her on one of the free online survey sites. Survey Monkey, etc.

I qualify and would gladly take a couple minutes to whip through such a version, but I hate doing things like this when I have to cut, paste, format, etc. Many others are likely to feel the same.

Hmmm...most have already begun FReepmailing me which is fine. This 7th grader is a dear friend’s daughter and I was hesitant to put her contact info on the web.

Every person is a help.

Well, that didn’t take long.

Actually, she’s from a very fine conservative family. Mom stays home to raise the children and shuttle them to and from Christian school, while dad engineers parts (under multi-level clearance) for secret missiles to protect our country.

This may have come from the fact that one or both of her grandparents have smoked and/or b/c it’s still occurring.

LOL! Oh, wait a minute -— can you participate? I believe it is all forms of tobacco use. Sorry. Even chewing tobacco.

“...former smokers or tobacco users... to see
which method of quiting (smoking or chewing) was most successful long term in
the population. “

Comments to add - My motivation for quitting was my newborn daughter. Nothing less ever budged me no matter how many times I had tried to quit before.

I remember my doctor looking me right in the eye and asking if I wanted to lead her down the isle at her wedding. When I, of course, said yes, he replied, “Well then you better quit smoking or you’re going to be dead.”

Quitting is the hardest thing that I have ever done by far.

Good luck in the science fair.

May I answer for my mother who died of lung cancer last June? She was 81 1/2, healthy as a horse in every other way. Died of the smokers lung cancer.

She had good strong genes in every way, but the smoking did it to her.

Please, I’m not questioning this girl’s values nor her patriotism. It’s just that I was being satirical about government’s ever expanding encroachment into matters (especially medical) that were dealt with in the private sphere until recent decades.
