THE LIMBAUGH FETISH - DEMOCRATS ARE OBSESSED
Roman Around ^ | 28 January 2009 | Andrew Roman

one of my favorite covers

If you think for one moment that Democrats did not want George W. Bush to fail, then I have an East River bridge I'm dying to get off my hands that I'm willing to sell for cheap. When President Bush tried to reform the nation's largest Ponzi scheme - Social Security - I defy anyone to look me in the eye and tell me that Democrats did not want that initiative to fail.

When President Bush proposed his across-the-board tax cuts, is there anyone who believes that Democrats did not want that policy to go belly up as well?

Name me the Democrats who came forth and said, "Well, we didn't want these tax cut passed, but now that they're law, let's all hope it turns out to be a good move for all the American people."

It did not happen.

Democrats wanted the Bush tax cuts to fail.

In fact, as shocking as this revelation apparently is to Democrats, it is the nature of politics.

When disagreements on political positions exist, one side wishes the other side's policies to fail.

It's the way it is.

(Do I also need to explain that water is wet?)

Why is this concept only now twisting the panties of the whiny ones? Is it because the precious Messiah has ascended to the Mount and all of us be damned who oppose him?

The fact is ... when proposed Democrat policies run contrary to those beliefs held by the opposing party, how can Republican not want them to fail?

How hilarious is it that Democrats - the party of tolerance - are now outraged that talk-show host Rush Limbaugh has called for Barack Obama's initiatives to fail.

So what?

Totalitarian government can be sustained ONLY through the suppression of contrary views. To keep the democrat machine functioning, they have to eliminate all who disagree.

The Democrats know that Rush Limbaugh has his fingers on the pulse of the conservative movement and has the clearest and loudest conservative voice in the wilderness. With that in mind, the Democrats want to stamp out his dissenting leadership.

You can bet your sweet bippy that they will demonize him to the point that they will drum up enough support for the passage of the "Fairness Doctrine".

Now that GWB has gone back to Texas, they have to have someone to blame for everything they screw up. Hence RDS.

Limbaugh is being used as a distraction.

And it appears to be working.

Sigh.

Yeah, how dare anyone criticize the Affirmative Action president elected on the basis of his shining qualifications?

“When President Bush tried to reform the nation’s largest Ponzi scheme - Social Security - I defy anyone to look me in the eye and tell me that Democrats did not want that initiative to fail.”

Actually, my Republican Congressman Mike Turner wanted President Bush’s pla for Social Security to fail. I’m glad Congressman Turner saw the flaws in that plan. It wouldn’t be serving anyone well now.

Bush was proposing that something like 2% of your contributions be put in investment accounts you manage and OWN. You think we are well served by a system that takes 16% of your pay,, all of your working life,,, and can manage to send you a check for 800 or 1000 bucks? Oh,, and when you die, they keep it. No ownership.

Old people screwed their children and grandchildren by fighting this. They can only tear their mouth away from the govermnent teat long enough to tell us that social security isnt meant to be your retirement.

An amazing admission,, 16% of your pay,, for 4 decades, isnt supposed to be a retirement. Thanks again “Greatest generation”.

My point is not whether or not the Bush social security plan was good or not - the point is that wanting a policy to fail is not unreasonable.

Democrats are hung up on the word “fail.”

“How dare Rush say he wants Obama to fail.”

It’s okay - and quite normal - to want the failure of policies you oppose - and since a President is predominantly judged by his policies, it is perfectly acceptable to say “I want Obama to fail.”

Thank goodness we are so well served by this Social Security system that is utterly unsustainable in our population base.

Ive met so many old people who actually believe there is an “account” somewhere with their contributions. The money is GONE.
Nobody EVER supported changing the game for ANYONE within 20 years or so of retirement age. But a bunch of geezers want to ensure their children can crawl and beg for social security scraps too. Seems their fear, and love affair with FDR will never end.

No modern nation on earth uses a system like ours. Its archaic,, a fraud,,, and in truth, nothing but welfare.

Rush has planned this. And he's playing them well. He must have been as surprised as I was that Zero criticized him in his first week as POTUS. If Rush had possessed the power to select our nominee last year, it sure as hell wouldn't have been McLame. By opposing him so vociferously, the Rats are giving Rush the ability to be influential enough to pick our winner for 2012.

He'll use a demonstration of his power in next year's Congressional elections. Even then, they won't get it.
