The stimulus bill will force the military to buy electric vehicles

According to U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, the stimulus bill will force the military to buy electric vehicles. You have to wonder if the democrat's cheese has completely slipped off their cracker. Are electric tanks and helicopters next? The military can not depend on electric vehicles in a time of war or emergency. That is highlighted now in the State of Kentucky where Governor Beshear has deployed the entire KY National Guard to help out in an ice storm. There is now no power in the areas they are being deployed. Electric vehicles would be useless.

...in the State of Kentucky where Governor Beshear has deployed the entire KY National Guard...

Does he mean Governor Brashear? He could help out with any ice-related difficulties!

The Manchurian Candidate is showing his true colors. He is here to destroy America, either intentionally or in a drunken commie stupor, either way the damage will be done.

What I’ve seen so far, actually looks like it makes sense. Diesel electrics have lots of advantages

Electric helicopters. I bet those will be a big hit.

However, to be fair, a big use on stateside bases is transportation to and from, not tactical battlefield needs. There is a whole lot of running around vehicles on bases.

But buying ridiculous electric cars, that's just a waste of money. Remember how much the post office wasted on similar projects?

GE has been building choo-choos that way for about a hundred years.

Hmmm. I wonder why.

The big 200 ton mining trucks are “electric” with electric drives on each wheel. The diesel generator on the truck powers the electric motors and indirectly supplies the power to move the load. I don't know the fuel usage comparison with, say, the old 75 ton diesels but can't imagine a difference that is that extreme.

Didn’t the ad say the tanks could power like 600 homes?

Shhh!

Yes. One of the benefits of fcs, is that it IS a power source in need.

Really all chemistry is electric. Burning fuel involves the transfer of electron bonds between atoms. Your brain is really an electronic computer. We should put an electric sticker on everything and be done with it.
