"WASHINGTON (Associated Press) : -- The Obama administration says the referendum that cleared the way for Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to run for re-election was democratic.
In other news (this time in an alternate reality where the Berlin wall wasn't torn down in 1989):
--"Bucharest (Scanteia) the official newspaper or the Romanian Communist Party: President Obama sent congratulatory message to the Romanian leader Nicolae Ceausescu expressing his respect and admiration for the 89 year old communist leader, reelected tonight in a free and democratic election for the 11th time.

This is satire, right?
democratic?
yea, and when we have no talk radio and anti-conservative censorship online in 4 years... that will be a free and fair election too
Unfortunately the first piece of news from AP isn’t.
The second is satire.
It's darned near impossible to tell the difference between satire and facts these days.
The part about Obama and Chavez is fact, not satire. Click the link, then click the AP link there...
Folks, we don't need to make things up about the Messiah and confuse people. The facts as they stand are bad enough. All these kinds of pieces do is undermine the real case against him.
Yeah, the Nicolae Ceausescu reference gives it away. He (along with his wife) were shot by a firing squad while attempting to flee the country in 1990 (IIRC).
As for Obama congratulating Chavez, anything is possible with this crowd.
I am sure Jimmy Carter was an election official.
There’s a video tape of it. I call it “A Very Ceausescu Christmas”.
Obama economic adviser Laura D’Andrea Tyson wrote a dissertation praising Ceausescu’s economics. Google “Mrs. Tyson’s Fried Economics”.
This is satire right?
heck i have no idea. There is absolutely nothing i would be past this #$%&*# @#%&*$#%^ i mean nothing.
Why does that not surprise me? Thanks for the tip.
He had to congratulate Chavez, who rips off the haves to give to the have-nots, and who wants control of every aspect of his citizens’ lives. Like Obama does here.
I tried looking for that AP article elsewhere on the net and couldn't find it. I did a title search and a search for selected portions of the text. Nothing.
Here is a link to an AP article which contains portions of the text in the bogus article posted at the top. However, there is no mention of Obama "congratulating" Chavez on his victory, although I'm certain he and his radical left advisers are quite pleased about it privately. I really wish we wouldn't post junk like this here.

Here’s another

It reads like satire. Even the guy’s name - Gordon Duguid (DOO gud)
I swear this administration will screw us over before it’s done.

Also from the Washington Post/AP article you linked to...
“It was rare praise for a U.S. antagonist after years of criticism from the Bush administration.
U.S. State Department spokesman Gordon Duguid (DOO gud) noted ‘troubling reports of intimidation.’ But he added Tuesday that ‘for the most part this was a process that was fully consistent with democratic process...”
