Posted on 02/24/2009 6:53:25 AM PST by curth
During the Monday 12PM EST hour of MSNBC news coverage, anchor Norah ODonnell interviewed conservative film maker John Ziegler, creator of Media Malpractice, a documentary on media bias against Sarah Palin, and denied any such bias: "Well, let me ask you, you called the treatment of Sarah Palin and her family a, quote, 'media assassination, one of the greatest public injustices of our time.' Is that a little strong? Are you and her a little thin-skinned?"
Ziegler responded by pointing out ODonnells own anti-Palin bias: "The evidence is overwhelming. It's continuing today. I mean, just a few weeks ago, Norah, you incorrectly stated on the air Sarah Palin called Barack Obama a terrorist during the campaign." NewsBusters reported on ODonnells January 29 smear of Palin.
ODonnell criticized part of Zieglers documentary: "Let me ask you, in your documentary you cite examples of media bias by Saturday Night Live, that that's media bias. Aren't those comedians?...How's that media bias?" Ziegler explained: "Poll after poll shows that more people get their news from comedy shows because the line between entertainment and news, as this network has shown time and time again, has virtually evaporated...MSNBC used to be a news organization, now it's an advocacy organization, and SNL is actually thought to be a news organization."

How stupid do these people think we are?
How can someone deny an undeniable, obvious bias?
‘Ziegler responded by pointing out ODonnells own anti-Palin bias: “The evidence is overwhelming. It’s continuing today. I mean, just a few weeks ago, Norah, you incorrectly stated on the air Sarah Palin called Barack Obama a terrorist during the campaign.” NewsBusters reported on ODonnells January 29 smear of Palin. ‘
I’d note Nora O’Donnell is a political hack, but thats a requirement for employment at MSNBC.
I can imagine that they are so deluded by their own lies to the point they actually believe it.
For further evidence of this, consider a poll taken by a news organization right after the election in which respondents were asked to identify which candidate/ticket was identified by various statements or positions expressed during the campaign. One of the questions in the poll was about which candidate considered being able to see Russia from his/her home foreign policy experience. This was one of the questions with the highest "correct" responses, but the pollsters apparently failed to recognize that it was Tina Fey in her impersonation of Palin that made that claim rather than Palin herself.
Media bias? Does O’Donnell cast a shadow?
Tina Fey is a hero because she had a big role in ridiculing Sarah Palin. Many Americans got their knowledge of current political events from Tina, and learned that Gov Palin was a blithering idiot.
The Left knows that comedy shows have power and uses them and artfully denies that it has an impact "It's just a comedy show!"
Hearing Tina ScarFeyce is even more obnoxious than Nancy Pelosi. I know it’s almost impossible. Almost.
As with other Marxists who open their mouths, she lies. Simple as that. Liar!!!!!
Nora, are you?.....every time a liberal is exposed as being bias, they automatically resort to asking questions instead of answering...the claim, media bias, the retort are you this or that?
I am hearing impaired and use closed captioning when watching TV. During the Academy Awards Tina Fey was presenting an award. She introduced herself as Sarah Palin and then said some really non-sensical, stupid stuff. The audience was roaring but I don’t think the TV audience heard it because of Fey’s off-timing and the noise in the audience. The deaf and hard of hearing did though via the captioning. Just another example of the infiltration of “Sarah is stupid” campaign of the left.
Remember,Jerry, it’s not a lie,if you believe it.(George
Norah, your husband sexually abuses your oldest daughter. Any children you might have aren't really yours - they belong to your oldest daughter.
I've hacked into your personal e-mail and am now accusing you of misusing the e-mail system. Your hair and clothes are ugly. You're nothing but trailer trash trying to pretend to be someone. You're as dumb as a stump. And. . .P>What's wrong, Norah. A "little thin-skinned"?
Maybe we should ban political comedy?
She is not predjudiced. She just hates Palin.
The man (or woman) in the street knew ALL about Gov Palin: the questionable parentage of her young son, the pregnancy of her teenage daughter, the banning of books at the local library, charging people for rape kits -- man! The amount of "information" about Palin that people had been exposed to was sure staggering.
... and that’s just a small fraction of the drivel.
“Are you and her a little thin-skinned?”
Nice grammar, Norah Einstein. You’re a network news anchor that cannot construct an intelligible sentence.
the country didn’t have a problem with will rogers.
“the country didnt have a problem with will rogers.”
Sure didn’t. So what’s the problem with Tina Fey?
I don’t know about SNL, but way too man young “adults” get their news from “The Daily Show”.
Tina Fey is a hero because she had a big role in ridiculing Sarah Palin.
Palin did NOT help herself by going on the show a couple of times either. SNL has made a mockery of our political system and the enablers are the ones who go on the show for face time...DID the magic negro go on it?....
Mean spirited witch that relishes in spewing gutter-level drivel and character assassination.
Cheap shots at the womb of an 18 year old girl and a Downs baby... really great comedy!!! I'm slapping my knee!/sarcasm and barf
The real problem of course are the idiots who think she's really quoting Palin (or that she IS Palin) and media circle-jerkers who elevate her to the status of an all-American heroine.
It has nothing to do with comedy. It's fools glorifying another fool, thinking they are absolutely brilliant.
I think she went to SNL only once. But I agree that this was her one big bad decision. In the Ziegler interview she said that she didn’t see a large part of the SNL crap before going there.
I really like Palin. I always cut her a lot of slack because I think her mis-steps are compartively minor and her principles are strong and good.
Now, having said that, I would hope that Palin and other Republicans really re-think their approach to the media. You can't feed the beast. If you go on a show, or agree to an interview with someone, you really have to have thought it out and put some agreements in place. You're dealing with the enemy. Don't go in blind.
Sarah Palin only went on SNL once and did very well especially when she put Alec Baldwin down by saying, “My favorite Baldwin is your brother Stephen.”
What was unbelievable was that McCain went on SNL with Tina Fey and while appearing in the same skit, Tina again misrepresents and mocks Sarah, but this time within earshot of John.
Stupid, stupid, stupid-after Sarah legitimizes herself as not a moron the McCain campaign allows it to be done again and on the last weekend before the vote.
Idiots, morons: the McCain campaign.
You said MSNBC right? Of course they’ll deny the bias. Because they’re the biggest culprits behind it.
She should have gone to FOX, Glenn Beck and talk radio. The first impression is vital.
I don't blame her... it was the McCain staffers utterly mishandling and cuffing her. Let Palin be Palin.
McCain doing what McCain always does.
The left wing losers are trying to bury the message at youtube. I would recommend that Freepers take to voting down their propogandist videos and voting up the factual ones.
I agree. And this is another reason why the Fairness Doctrine is a terrible idea. Conservatives currently have some media outlets, and so someone like Gov Palin can obtain a fair hearing of her ideas if she chooses her opportunities carefully. But the Fairness Doctrine would severely cut into that and leave perhaps 3 choices: Katie Couric, Chris Matthews, or silence.
If you remember most of the so-called ‘damage’ that was done to mock Sarah’s reputation or downgrade her intellectual ability was done on SNL or by late-night comedians when she was NOT present or could not defend herself; when she was on SNL the one time I think she did a lot to discount the negative impact with her ‘brother Baldwin comment’ and when she said ‘Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night with clarity and conviction.
And when any rational thinking person looks back, what are the chances that anybody could deliver a convention speech that many pundits claim was the best by anybody on a GOP Presidential ticket since Reagan’s speech in 1980 could stand toe-to-toe with Joe Biden during her debate and attract crowds of 60,000 screaming fans and still be a simpleton, idiot, or moron?
My friends, this does not compute.
and that’s why we’ve become a nation of idiots.
The Daily Show even more so.
The GOP has got to smarten up because the Dems have got too many things sown up. Liberal media & Hollywood 24/7 and people don’t even know they are liberal; ACORN getting billions as an advance for the next election; too many bipartisan RHINOs who’d sell out their granny; big swaths of the ethnic pop voting Dem because of free handouts or the Dems strong horse “cool” image; no GOP fighters with charisma, youth, looks sex appeal and passion. What has the GOP to offer the average unthinking, liberal indoctrinated, Joe?
That's not too difficult. LOL. Problem with Biden was that everything he said was a lie... but he tells them as if he believes it.
Who controlled Sarah’s media moves? It WAS NOT Sarah. It was McCain and McCain’s handlers who determined the sequence of media outlets as to who would interview Sarah.
By the way Sarah said (I can’t remember where or when) that she had to sneak away from her handlers with her cell phone in Pittsburgh to call Rush Limbaugh.
Folks, I have harped on this for several months. McCain might not have won (because of the financial meltdown) but one of the most egregious errors in the campaign was not to introduce Sarah to America through the Rush Limbaugh program.
Did you hear the actual interview when Rush conducted it in October? You could tell he sympathized with her and loved her conservative spunk. By the way, Rush has an audience of 20m.
Sarah Palin, anyone?
And I wish Sarah would have gone on with Jay Leno. Whoever thought that was a bad idea should be exiled to St. Helena and live forever where Napoleon did on bread and water.
Tell sanctimonious Nora (member of the East Coast elite) that it should be: “Are you and she a little thin-skinned?”
Comparing Tina Fey with Will Rogers is like comparing ‘Wrong way’ Corrigan with US Airways pilot Chesley Sullenberger.
Sarah didn't yet run for Presidency. She would not be the first failed VP candidate to return successfully.
Maybe it should be BSNBC.
Oblermann is still going after Bush.
it’s all about Nora and all these other crazy assed spoiled rotten self absorbed women who cherish the right to kill their babies in the womb
that need trumps anything
and Sarah Palin stands in the way of that....a woman who knows the TRUTH and will fight them
God bless her if for nothing but that alone....a strong woman with a national following to protect our babies
what has happened to our women?
how did they get like this...so...guided by evil?
Interesting question. The only one I could find (with an admittedly quick search) in the “modern” (post-1836) era of party politics was Franklin D. Roosevelt, who ran unsuccessfully with James Cox on the Democrat ticket in 1920.
