Let’s all keep pretending around here that the biggest threat to our future and freedom is the GOP. I don’t know if any of you have taken inventory lately, but the RATS have 59 senators and might well soon have a veto proof 60. Making Sotomayor a conservative Masada is pure idiocy. she’s going to get a stern conservative challenge in confirmation hearings then she’s going to be confirmed. That’s what life is like in an institutional minorty.

Well, in case you haven't noticed, they're not exactly helping our cause now are they. No need to pretend at all, it's for all to see.

AMEN!

Why do we always eat our own?

Why the constant circular firing squads?

BTW:

MY Senator, Pat Roberts, just came out AGAINST confirmation of this loon!

Pat Roberts spoke against D-Soto today.

He will give cover for many others to come out against her.

The GOP got Obama to reverse himself on MANY issues already.

They are doing the best they can, in a minority position.

Please aim some fire at the Dems, would you?

Agreed, this is their last chance to show that they have the semblence of balls. I know they don’t have the votes to stop the confirmation, I just want to see them get a spine and calmly question Sotomoyer about her decisions and comments. If they give her a pass, I will end my Republican registration and go Independent. They will never get an other dime from me. To save this country we need a fearless, rightous loyal opposition. Elections be damned! There is a lot more at steak than elections.

It seems that the community consensus here is that there are too many RINOs. My view is that there are too few Republicans of ANY ideological stripe. You're kidding yourself if you think that a conservative bloc of at most 30% of the electorate can constitute a governing majority. We need "moderates" in the Party or conservates will achieve 0% of our principled conservative priorities. That's just the way the world works whether we like it or not.

There's too much energy spent dwelling on how Pubbie office holders differ with our individual priorities rather than those areas where our priorities are in concert. JMO.

Kansas58 is going to “why can’t we all get along” us into socialist handcuffs. We have let the Repubs natter away while the Dems and Obama ate their lunch. Why, to win elections? Have you seen the results of the last couple of election? We are past the point of no return.

The Repubs suck, when they win elections they can’t help but screw governing up. They never seem to govern the way we thought they would when we voted for them. I strongly suggest they get reaquainted with the constitution and the writing of our founding fathers and speak on principal and not worry about how it sounds to the “moderates” and the media. I want statesmen damn it! It’s time!

Wrong, the people who left the Repubs are looking for alternatives to the current choices. They ain’t going over to the Dems, believe me.

My view is that there are too few Republicans of ANY ideological stripe.

Agreed, they are too busy trying to win popularity contest instead of fixing the problems that got us here. But to do that, you have to identify the problem first, they will not do that.

The Conservative platform is very simple, lower taxes, small government and individual responsibility. All of the issues fall in line when those basics are adhered to.

When they are properly articulated over the head of the enemedia, the majority of the Country will follow in the majority. I don't believe for a second in "moderates", look where it has gotten us.

The only people espousing that philosophy is our opponents, why on earth would you listen to them let alone take their advice on how to win?

Amen!.

As I posted in my response to Kansas58, the Conservative party basic issues of less taxes, small government and individual responsibilities appeals to the majority of the Country when articulated over the heads of the media.

If those basics are adhered to, all of the other "issues" fall in line. The basic principles work because they are a solid foundation, and for some reason the GOP cannot grasp that.

How are you fighting Democrats?
:::::::::::
Certainly not by supporting the Republican Party blindly.
I am in constant communications with the FEW in the party that still care about America First. I am working with them to get awareness and the vote out for America....and not for self-serving Washington pols who have let this country sink into the horrid abyss of radical socialism and political thuggery that it is in.

And that is just for openers.

That’s what life is like in an institutional minority.

And how did Republicans get to be a "institutional minority"?

The Bush Presidents moderation of ignoring their base voters and playing go along and get along with the Democrats was the key to "institutional minority".

Now the moderate Republicans want to repeat the disasters under the Bush Presidents on a bigger scale - No Thanks!

I do - I don’t vote for them, either.

Fortunately for the dems, their Senators do not think like many here. - They filibuster and Bork.

And end up with far left liberals on the court, even in a GOP controlled senate.
