This is a scripted game.

Next year, there will be two or three visits between Obama and the Russians. By 2011...there will be a understanding drafted up. The US will halt their umbrella, then the Russians agree to decrease nuke missiles by half, and then Obama promises to remove half of the US troops in Europe by 2015.

The NATO guys will wake up and realize that Obama did all of this negotiation in the dark and never mentioned a word to the UK, France or Germany. The Pentagon will be standing there...wondering where they can shove 20,000 US troops into the US...when Obama suddenly says that he is making a peace dividend deal, and the twenty thousand will be cuts.

Its a script....and most folks have their part to say and go along with already.

I always wondered why Putin wanted the Polish Missile defense closed and I looked at my maps. There are several missile complexes that are west of Moscow and might be range of those at the Polish site. Maybe he afraid that he would have them shot down when those Russian missiles when they are out of their silos.

One of the only positives I see out of Obama in the whitehouse is western europe is going to get a long overdue painful lesson. That lesson will be how spoiled they were by the US always protecting them from the Communist Russians and nuclear prolifiration aimed at them.

Its more about the breakup of the USSR and how the Pope John Paul and Reagan worked together to free Poland from communist slavery.
Since the collapse of the USSR, Russia has always refered to Poland and the Baltics as “lost children” that will someday soon be re-annexed back as Russian property.
It drives the thugs at the Krelim nuts that they are no long part of their “sphere of influence”.
Poland has especially been vocal of all the attrocities the communists perpetrated on their country after WW2.

Quid pro quo?

Does Vlady feel Obama owes him one now for agreeing to allow us to transport weapons over Russian territory to Afghanistan?

The Russians were not the only ones committing atrocities during WWII. The Germans were very brutal on the Poles during the occupation years.6 million Polish citizens perished during the war and half of them were Polish Jews. Not to mention the Warsaw Ghetto and and the atrocities committed there. The movie “The Pianist” really graphically depicted life there

Poland has been brutalized by two major powers(Germany 1939-45 and Russia 1945-1988) for 60 years. They deserve the missile shield promised them.
