Now Glenn Beck Slams Obama's Birth Issue
WorldNetdaily ^

Posted on 08/04/2009 5:10:16 PM PDT by Amerisrael

Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck says people should be focusing on the goals President Obama is pursuing and the way he is reaching them instead of questioning his eligibility to be president.

"I have to tell you, the – I mean, first of all, the birther thing, what are you going to do. Even if it was true, what, are you going to take him out of office?" he said today on his radio show. "You can't do that."--WND

We should do both! As Joe Farah correctly observes if Obama would simply make public his long-form birth certificate, all these questions of being legit could be answered.

Otherwise it looks like there is an attempt to hide something.

I sure agree with Glenn. He is a great fighter for the conservative movement. We need to take what he says to heart. Our local “Letters to the Editors” are kookifying the right on this futile obsession. It is dieing out.

You know what else is dying out? The ability of newbie trolls to spell.

To: Glenn Beck:

re: “Even if it was true, what, are you going to take him out of office?” “You can’t do that.”

This is a major event in America’s history and it will take some courage to undo the damage. As the old saw goes: “The people who say it can’t be done shouldn’t get in the way of the folks who are doing it.”

Here is the executive summary:
O has always had the burden of proving he is qualified. He acknowledged that burden when he signed or arranged for his agent(s) to sign each state’s primary election certification that he was qualified/eligible for the office of the president. Such execution, of course, was made under penalty of perjury.

Later, during the January 8, 2009 Joint Session called solely for the purpose of assuring America that the election was conducted properly, Obama had the burden of satisfying any request by Congress to demonstrate his citizenship (see 20th Amendment, “…if the President elect shall have failed to qualify…” as well as 3 USC 15).

O’s duty is a continuing duty.

Imagine that through the failure of Congress to conform with 3 USC 15, the EC votes for and the Congress accepts Mickey Mouse as president. Is the nation bound by that action or can Congress take steps to correct that Constitutional defect? While there may be no legal precedent, clearly the latter is obvious.

Further imagine that a Republican from each chamber of Congress stands and moves for corrective action; specifically, that Congress correct the fact that it overlooked its obligation under 3 USC 15 but the motion is defeated by the Dem/Socialists. Would those members have standing to present the Constitutional defect to the USSC? One would hope so. Will the USSC be able to resolve the issue? Not directly, only Congress can correct its mistake, and that is the way we should want it.

But if the Court agrees Congress’ failure to conform with its statute was unconstitutional and the Congress continues to take no action there will be substantial political reverberations.

At some point in that process, O’s handlers may well cause him to resign rather than risk what they have achieved (much of which may be in the small print of unread legislation). They would accept Biden and Hillary as backup players.

And, that may slow the leftist juggernaut that has its arms around our nation.

“He’s just concentrating on other issues”

That's fine.
0bama has committed so many crimes since January, the Republican Party has enough ammo to sink him any number of issues. So I am all for fighting Obama on many fronts, like the IG sacking issue, the Black Panther voter intimidation issue, 0bama Deathcare issue and lots of other issues.
However, if Glenn Beck doesn't want to join in forcing 0bama to produce his birth certificate, he should at least not be trying to pull the movement back.

I disagree. I really respect Glenn and listen to him every chance I get since he was one of the few who spoke up for Terri Schiavo. He is wrong on this and the funny thing is he uses the very arguments that we are using for everything else.
Uphold The Constitution, stand up for your right to voice your opinion, etc. Just as our country is in so much worse shape for having let Terri be killed our country will be in much worse shape if we do not insist that The Constitution be followed on the eligibility requirements.

The firestorm would be huge if it was proven that 0bama is not a natural-born citizen and inelgible to be POTUS. It would lead to violence if he insisted on staying in office.

“If the Pres will not follow the laws dictated in the Constitution, then nobody has to follow them. We now have anarchy.”

And, he does not have the military, who are bound to obey a legal order.

This is actually progress for Beck. Back in December, he screamed -- literally screamed -- at a caller "SHUT UP ABOUT THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE ... JUST SHUT UP".

He's still essentially saying something that amounts to "Let's forget about the Constitution and the truth, if sticking to it would cause serious civil disorder."

“Even if it was true, what, are you going to take him out of office?”

Uh, yeah... Generally, I agree with Glenn, but he’s off the mark on this one. The Constitution is very clear on the eligibility requirement for the office of President. If we are to be a nation of laws, then we should start with the foundational law of the land, the Constitution. There is provision in the law for amending the Constitution.

IF the talking heads want to change the Constitution, let them start the amendment process. Short of that, they should be standing with us to enforce it...all of it.

It’s time to take back the country.

He needs to seek help.

An article in the Washington Times two years ago on Saudi Interest in America, noted the purchase of shares in News Corp. by Prince Alwaleed bin Talal:

“The Saudis’ potential influence on U.S. and international media was recently illustrated by the prince’s purchase of 5.6 percent of voting shares in News Corp., the world’s largest publisher of English newspapers.”

News Corps also owns Fox. That same wealthy Arab, Alwaleed bin Tali, once said if Arab muslims united economically, they could influence U.S. foreign policy.

To be sure they influence the media.

The same article noted that government sources estimated Saudi holdings in America to be between $400 to $800 billion dollars.

I agree with BEck. His theory of an exoskeleton being constructed over this country with all elements ready to change our country is compelling. A lot more compelling than this whole birth cert line of thought.

“You can’t do that.”— You wanna bet?

******

To me, a strong indicator of how strong or how weak the birther movement will be during the 2010 campaigns for Senator and Representative is this:

As we know, Senator and Representative candidates love to have a popular President of the United States campaign for them. They expect and believe that a visit and endorsement from the President of the United States will increase votes in their favor.

However, if a lot of Democrat Senator and Representative candidates in 2010 politely ask the President of the United States, Obama, NOT to campaign for them, then we will have our first sign that the birther movement is working.

I don’t really believe in any of the conspiracy theories.

Then you haven't been paying attention to what has been happening, even just since Obama took office.

How does the US government acquire large chunks of private corporations such as banks, auto companies, insurance companies, and next up healthscare, energy usage, and plans for taking over just about every other aspect of our personal lives? ACORN and SEIU, and all their gazillions of affiliates getting gazillions of taxpayer dollars? Twenty czars to care for you?

No conspiracy?

“I mean, heck! It was Jerome Corsi and his book that did in Kerry... LOL...”

No, it was John O’Neill’s book, Corsi did some minor editing but took credit for the entire work. Later, O’Neill got a little upset about it and said so.

I bought the book right away and read it. I thought it was great. But, I always looked at it as being Corsi’s work, too, not just a ghost writer... but yes, there is a controversy over that... as anyone can see from the following reference...

After controversial statements made by Corsi became public, O’Neill denied Corsi’s coauthorship of the book, saying that Corsi was “simply an editor and not really any sort of co-author.” However, portions of the book contain material also found in articles posted under Corsi’s name at WinterSoldier.com, a website critical of John Kerry, and O’Neill is cited in a later book as describing Corsi as helping to write “Unfit for Command,” and urging him to back out of media appearances after the controversial comments became public.

I’m just glad the book came out, because I do believe it made a difference and I’m glad it got into the public’s hands.

I remember going on that site several times, and looking up information regarding the swift boat veterans... and what I remember is it was the swift boat veterans site that O’Neill created for them and the issue.

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth was launched on May 4, 2004 at a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington. More than 250 Swift boat veterans contacted by the group have agreed to sign an open letter to Senator John F. Kerry that challenges his fitness to serve as America’s Commander-in-Chief. Signers of the letter include the entire chain of command above Lt. John Kerry in Vietnam: Lt. Commander Grant Hibbard, Lt. Commander George Elliott, Captain Charles Plumly, Captain Adrian Lonsdale USCG, and Rear Admiral Roy Hoffman.

I remember watching that news conference, and I think I still have a saved copy of it. I was glad they were doing what they did, as it made a difference, I think. And I also listened to quite a few radio interviews of O’Neill’s and also followed the issue through Corsi, too.

It’s still there if people want to look it up...

On January 31, 1971, members of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) met in a Detroit hotel to discuss war crimes they claimed to have participated in or witnessed during their combat tours in Vietnam. During the next three days, more than 100 Vietnam veterans and 16 civilians gave anguished, emotional testimony describing hundreds of atrocities against innocent civilians in South Vietnam, including rape, arson, torture, murder, and the shelling or napalming of entire villages. The witnesses stated that these acts were being committed casually and routinely, under orders, as a matter of policy.

In April, the VVAW stormed Washington in a week-long protest. At its height, spokesman John Kerry went before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations to accuse the United States military of committing massive numbers of war crimes in Vietnam. The appearance launched Kerry’s political career. The charges he made shocked and sickened a nation, changed the course of a war and stained the reputation of the American military for decades.

But the mass murder of civilians was never American policy in Vietnam. War crimes were the exception, not the rule. And the Winter Soldier tribunal itself — which John Kerry had helped moderate — turned out to be “packed with pretenders and liars.”

That’s from the front page of the site ...
