Healthcare Bill Support Declining, due to Palin Effect?

This poll was taken after Governor Palin released her Facebook statement criticizing President Obama's healthcare bill.

Rasmussen Reports:

Public support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low as just 42% of U.S. voters now favor the plan. That’s down five points from two weeks ago and down eight points from six weeks ago.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that opposition to the plan has increased to 53%, up nine points since late June. More significantly, 44% of voters strongly oppose the health care reform effort versus 26% who strongly favor it. Intensity has been stronger among opponents of the plan since the debate began.

Sixty-seven percent (67%) of those under 30 favor the plan while 56% of those over 65 are opposed. Among senior citizens, 46% are strongly opposed. Predictably, 69% of Democrats favor the plan, while 79% of Republicans oppose it. Yet while 44% of Democratic voters strongly favor the reform effort, 70% of GOP voters are strongly opposed to it.

Most notable, however, is the opposition among voters not affiliated with either party. Sixty-two percent (62%) of unaffiliated voters oppose the health care plan, and 51% are strongly opposed. This marks an uptick in strong opposition among both Republicans and unaffiliateds, while the number of strongly supportive Democrats is unchanged.

Its not due to Palin, but she is only honestly echoing what regular Americans are saying.

Have Palin’s objections gotten out on any of the MSM or even Fox? If so, that could be a small influence.

Somebody needs to explain to these young pups that they are going to be required to buy the same insurance, at the same rates, as their 87-year-old Granny. This is a bad deal for everybody, but a terrible deal for young folks.

They need to stop chanting "O-Ba-Ma... O-Ba-Ma..." for long enough to realize that they will be paying tremendous amounts of money for services they never use.

Giving Sarah more credit than she might be due, or what?

Huh. I know it sucks that the uninsured-by-choice will be "taxed" to help pay for Granny, but I wasn't aware that there would not be any age tiers. After all isn't one of the objections being voiced is that it would undercut private policies? And it can't reasonably do that without age tiers.

Please don’t start claiming Palin created the internet.

Palin might be having a small effect, but it’s mainly due to the fact that people are actually reading the bill and seeing what’s in it.

I am Sarah’s biggest supporter, even I don’t believe that because of her statement, Obama’s DeathCare approvals have gone down. People are just getting a better understanding of what is going on and people are actually READING THE BILL and seeing it for what it is

Thank God she quit her job so she could warn us about this. We'd be lost without her.

Whether Palin had an impact or not is irrelevant. The point is if the fawning white guilt media REPORTS she has, guess what the contents of that authoritarian piece of crap gets shoved aside as Sarah becomes the headline. Alinsky tactic 12. We have to keepour eye on the ball and not let those who control the dissemination of information shift the focus away from this piece of crap. They think mentioning Sarah can play us or more importantly THEIR supporters who already have an anti-Palin bias. Don’t be folled, they’re running scared.

Well...in a word...yes...

However, I will credit her PR people for their ingenuity on this one.

Sorry Sarahlians, you are but a small portion of the American electorate. The real reason is that there are still many Americans left, many of whom are political independents, who don’t want Socialism.

Yep, I think the fact that Obama even mentioned “Death Panels” shows that she is in his head. He took the bait
