Sarah Palin takes to the digital pages of Facebook in praise of embattled and boycotted TV host Glenn Beck:
FOX News' Glenn Beck is doing an extraordinary job this week walking America behind the scenes of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and outlining who is actually running the White House.
Monday night he asked us to invite one friend to watch; tonight I invite all my friends to watch.
Palin thus ensures that the current Beck controversy will continue for at least another week. And I continue to be impressed and befuddled by two features of this controversy. The first is the degree to which Beck's supporters are largely unwilling to defend or engage with what Beck actually said to start the boycott. (Namely, that Obama is a "racist" with a "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.") The vast majority of what you hear from Beck supporters is that the left has been mendacious in handling the boycott campaign, by listing among the boycott signatories some companies that never advertised with Beck to begin with. But even if this were entirely true (it's partially true), it misses the point: The factual question of whether the boycott is calculating is unrelated to the interpretive question of whether what Beck said is defensible. And what Beck said was, I submit, stupid and indefensible. Does anyone disagree?
The second surprising feature is the degree to which this is wrongly described as a free-speech issue. This is a pretty big, basic misunderstanding of how free speech works. Free speech is a "negative" right: It prevents the government from silencing you. But it doesn't guarantee you the right to a soapbox or a megaphone or an audience. And it certainly doesn't guarantee a gigantic corporate paycheck for speaking your mind.

And her basketball record wasn't bad either :)
But somehow the MSM and a large chunk of America glossed over these verbal clues on his character, his beliefs. From Barack’s own words it is fairly easy to conclude how he wants to “Fundamentally Transform America”.
I remember the speech he gave when he talked about raising a “Civilian National Defense Force” last summer. It sent a chill down my back, especially seeing/hearing the Mind-Numb Robots applauding that line.
At that point I knew we were in store for some very serious trouble if he was elected. I pray every day that people will open their eyes and ears to what he is saying, that we have a few honest politicians left, and in worst case some Generals that are loyal to the Constitution over the Gov’t.
Yeah it was worthy of that. A little antagonism helps get the blood flowing.
Of course I disagree. Obama sat in the pews for 20 years as Rev. Wright spewed hatred of whites and white culture. He admits to seeking out black radicals during his college days. It is possible to list example after example of Obama's anti white, pro Black prejudice.
All the evidence is there, it's just easier for Obama supporters to say it can't be argued, rather than engage in the argument.
Conor Clarke is a metrosexual, and he’s wrong.
What Glenn Beck said about Obama being a racist and hating the white culture.....it’s NOT stupid and it’s NOT indefensible, because it’s true. The comment from Obama’s book, “White man’s greed runs a world in need” pretty much says it all. And what about Obama’s 20 year membership in that nutjob “Reverend” Wright’s so-called church? Anyone who sits there and listens to those anti-American, racist diatribes is himself a racist.
As for Sarah Palin, she’s doing great and does not need to take advice from some unknown limp-wristed dude who writes screeds for a magazine read only by his fellow New York leftists.
You’re right.....this guy certain envies Glenn Beck.
Don't flatter yourself about being a thoughtful person!
Why should any of us be concerned about what you care about?
I'm sure Sarah couldn't care less what you think.
I’m there!!!
Always has been.
God Bless her.
The U.S. is adrift in Husseinisms and liberal flakes and Sarah is one of the ONLY few making sense right now.
I'd vote for her in a second.
“But it doesn’t guarantee you the right to a soapbox or a megaphone or an audience. And it certainly doesn’t guarantee a gigantic corporate paycheck for speaking your mind.”
Ahhh, the hypocrisy, the hypocrisy.
Who recently stated that nearly half the USA was rascist on their show? And does it all the time?
Why do you have to quote the facts? A single fact will often spoil an interesting argument. Press Penny Conor was about to prove his interesting argument that different races can’t be judged by the same standard. Glenn can be a racist, Obama however, a racist? That would be impossible.
Yeah it always amazes me the level of narcissism. When they say “does anyone disagree?” You know they are really saying that anyone who does disagree is beneath them. These surface thinkers are destroying this country and it is the prevailing tactic of liberals.
Now you have the right idea. :-)
Your choice. If you don’t care what are you doing on this thread?
GO SARAH!!!!
... and God's America would roar with powerful approval.
You go girl!!!
If the facts don’t fit the theory, change the facts. Einstein Albert Substitute black for white in Obama’s comments. End of argument, we are right they are wrong.
That depends on what planet you are from and how often you visit this one. (barney Skank)
