This sounds suspiciously close to somebody's 2008 campaign promises. Take a look.

Read that this morning. We TiVo’d it, because we were watching the original last night. But I’m excited about this new one. Loved the old one. And very interesting timing.

It’s about as anti-Obama as Hollywood gets. But the idea in the show is that the aliens have been posing as humans for years causing “un-necessary wars and financial disasters” which you could take as a swipe at Bush. I think the producers are probably trying to satirize our society’s elites in general. I thought the show was ok but I don’t think the script mines this premise with enough wit.

Oh come on...the Obama administration has nothing to do with "V".
One of them is composed of a bunch of evil reptiles that appear human who have infiltrated America in order to destroy it and establish a one world government based on fear and domination. When their plan is almost complete they send a leader out who promises hope and change.
The other one is just a TV show.

The Mrs. and I watched it last night. If political leaders are being characterized as reptiles seeking to use us for personal gain... I think they will have to re-label this a reality show.

I always thought that the idea of the alien lizards folks needing humans for food was dumb. As if gnawing on Michael Moore’s fat butt is worth interstellar travel.

The show is about the aliens using slogans, the media and good old fashioned union-style thuggery to gain power, while making all sorts of promises of power, wealth and health for followers. It looks like Obama because those are the same things Obama used/is using for power. It would be hard make a "friendly" totalitarian takeover look unlike Obama.

I watched it. When the V leader promised everyone "universal health care" only after coercing the journalist to set aside his ethical principles "for the greater good", I about fell out of my chair. The whole thing was allegorically about Obama and his dangerous cult-of-personality - the message of "hope", the co-opting of the youth to spread the "word", the media manipulation. It was so blatantly anti-Obama, I'm surprised that it not only aired, but that they could convince so many actors to actually make the thing.
I hope that they don't soften the political overtones moving forward - it's really the only reason to watch.

I do remember watching the original at the time it came out and then I caught an episode a few nights ago on some channel....the new one is much better technically and special effects wise of course.

Yes, it was a warning against fascism in the United States. For the slow, it had an aged Shoa survivor who compared the V to Nazis.
The fact that V now naturally brings comparisons to Obama says more about Obama’s facists leanings than anything intentional by ABC.

"If youve never watched the short-lived TV series Firefly and the follow up movie Serenity, then you must." I've been meaning to watch Serenity for some time as it employs an openly conservative actor - Adam Baldwin. And, I hear that Nathan Fillion has made some conservative leaning comments.

We watched the show last night with this in mind. I heard (and saw) a number of references that rung a bell with me as far as parallels comparisons to another alien (Kenyan specifically). The aliens offered "hope". They offered "changes" that would transform mankind. Anna (or her right-hand man) asked the newscaster man, "wouldn't it be better to forego principles (of journalism - hahahaha) for the "greater good?". Anna told the newscaster not to ask her any questions that would paint them/her in a bad light. Anna mentioned all the medical solutions they could offer to mankind, in which the newscaster said, "you mean universal healthcare so to speak?"
I'm sure there were other references made that I fail to mention, but the commonalities of the show and the liberalspeak we are hearing from Obama and Congress were too many to ignore.
Oh, and one other thing, when the renegade human group secretly met and the leader said that the lizard aliens had infiltrated everywhere much time ago and had caused many of the problems, wars, etc. faced in the past, in order to condition mankind to want a savior of sorts to appear and straighten out the mess, for some reason my thoughts immediately focused on how evil islam has infiltrated our every nook and cranny and now we have a closet muzzie in the highest office in the land. I hope that's one parallel that I'm totally wrong about.

You tell it’s about Obama, from the reviews. Everyone said it was the best ever -— except the NYT:
“the New York Times to write, “The ideas in V, about alien encounters and mass delusion and media manipulation, are enticing. Its too bad that theyre floating around in a show that at this early stage, is so slapdash and formulaic in its storytelling.”[13]

Just saw a promo from AMC about a Series called the PRISONER.
It is different from the original Prisioner. Seems to have an element of the Logan’s Run Movie of the 60’s. (Farah Fawcett)

my thoughts immediately focused on how evil islam has infiltrated our every nook and cranny and now we have a closet muzzie in the highest office in the land. That really jumped out at me. Sure, the universal health care, and the expectation that the media would be 100% supportive -- those things were easy to link to current perceptions about Obama. But the infiltration was an interesting twist. When the FBI found a dead terrorist, they couldn't trace him at all. He had paperwork, but he seemed to come out of nowhere.
Like, the guy didn't have a birth certificate, college records, or anything else you might expect. But he had a good relationship with terrorists and had been in our midst for quite some time.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Taking advantage of V, here’s my letter to the NY Post today:
Congressional Democrats better listen to the voter’s outrage and toss lizard queen Nancy Pelosi overboard or else become visitors in DC.
Reptilian Pelosi has squandered a trillion bucks on pork, sheltered tax cheaters from justice and produced a nightmarish bill for the government takeover of health care that the Wall Street Journal calls the worst piece of legislation ever.
Democrats don’t need an asteroid to hit earth to become extinct if they stick with botoxinated crocodile from San Francisco
