Emerson Electric: No thanks, Obama, we're leaving.
Patriot Room ^ | 11/20/09 | Patriot Room

This hurts: The federal government is "doing everything in [its] manpower [and] capability to destroy U.S. manufacturing," says David Farr, chairman and CEO of Emerson Electric Co.

Farr added that companies will continue adding jobs in China and India because they are "places where people want the products and where the governments welcome you to actually do something.

I am not going to hire anybody in the United States. I'm moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs."

"...I'm moving. They are doing everything possible to destroy jobs."

That's their plan, Stan. Turn the U.S. into a third-rate, third world $hit hole where everyone is in a perpetual state of indentured servitude to the gov't. That's Obama's wet dream.

Something he has in common with Emerson's CEO.

It’s painful to hear but it’s sadly true.
My hope is that we can use unemployment to nuke the Baraqqis.

For a while I thought MSM/SCM was going to let them skate on 10% unemployed as the “new normal” but I think even they have realized popular opposition is too great.

Such a shame.....

Emerson was established in 1890 as Emerson Electric Manufacturing Co. by Civil War Union veteran. If Obama has his way, every block of the foundation of our history will be destroyed.

The democrat party and it’s leader Obama, can now claim another record setting scalp.

No way. Emerson is a very good company that has been in the USA for 100 + years, paying taxes, employing people and on and on. I prefer their approach to GE and the drug companies sucking up to Obama.

Don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya.

You say that because he's not taking your job with him. Yet. He is taking my grandson's job.

Prosperity and decline are choices, not ineluctable forgone conclusions. The American people voted for decline and have been rejecting prosperity for the past forty years.

It's not his fault.

This has nothing to do with Emerson or it's leadership and everything to do with our government and business environment.

Business exists to make money and they have to be competitive to do so. Without money they can pay no one, employees or shareholders alike. At least by making this move the shareholders still have a shot. Otherwise everyone, including workers who were vested lose.

How old’s your gradnson? There’s always the military. They don’t outsource the dying, that’s for sure.

Hopefully Mr. Farr moves with the jobs. But he’ll probably stay here, fat and happy, supported and defended by the very people he doesn’t want to hire.

What is Emerson’s suppose to do? Wait for a government bailout or roll up their sleeves and get it done?

The CEO said that 55% of their products are sold overseas, and the cost of manufacturing in the USA (because of government) is making their business lose money.

I don’t want to see them leave after 100 years, but the people voted and like they say, “elections have consequences”.

The people are voting out USA manufactured products. It’s just the way it is...

moving doesn’t matter... as the federal government demands you pay its federal income taxes even if you spend the entire year in another country... since you are a US citizen

if you try to give up your US citizenship, THEY will determine whether or not THEY believe you did it to avoid taxes... and will not recognize it. at which point, you still owe them money

the only way to avoid paying these scum bags would be to become a criminal (grrr)
