Over at RealClimate, they are in damage control mode over the leaked emails from the University of East Anglia's Hadley Climatic Research Centre. These emails are exchanges between many of the 'big guns' of the AGW scientific community. Some of the emails relate to the launching of the RealClimate site.

Instead, there is a peek into how scientists actually interact and the conflicts show that the community is a far cry from the monolith that is sometimes imagined. People working constructively to improve joint publications; scientists who are friendly and agree on many of the big picture issues, disagreeing at times about details and engaging in ‘robust’ discussions; Scientists expressing frustration at the misrepresentation of their work in politicized arenas and complaining when media reports get it wrong; Scientists resenting the time they have to take out of their research to deal with over-hyped nonsense. None of this should be shocking.The anthropogenic global warming crowd is telling us these emails are representative of how scientists act and we shouldn't be shocked. Here is a summary of a few of the transgressions we shouldn't be shocked about:

Does it matter? Global warming is a religion to its followers. They will not change their beloved belief system based on a few inconvenient e-mails. They live to be deceived!
Wasn’t the idea of a Copenhagen Accord abandoned early last week by Zer0.....right about (or after) the time the news was getting out about the CRU data dump?

I guess they could do that but all it will likely prove is tha they tried to cover something up.
Most large organizations have multiple copies of every email with many backups. These organizations are also likely to have policies around how their employees are supposed to maintain vital communications.
If they spend the weekend deleting stuff they could find themselves in deeper trouble than when they began.
Perfect timing for the non-decision maker.
The only thing they will be agreeing on is the hookers in the brothal district.
Sounds like proof of the biggest scam in human history...haven’t seen anything in the media about it though...wonder why :)

Remember at last spring’s “summit” in DC on this fake issue, how scientists who disagreed with the notion of man caused climate change were blocked from entering the discussions?

Because man caused climate change has always been BS. Nothing more than a way for crooked people to line their pockets, and to control people’s lives more and more.
Al Gore is insane. He cracked really bad after he lost the election. A man in search of a reason for being. He found it in the gullible people who believed in globull warming...morphed into “climate change” when things didn’t appear to be warming. The eco-nuts will not let go of their religion easily and most will never let go. Just like their love of abortion, it’s part of them.
Liberalism is a mental disorder. We have crazy people in the majority power, in DC. Unless more of their lies and crapola are exposed BIGTIME, we are doomed.

One of the most recent shifts in the argument is to focus less on actual data sets and more on weather extremes as evidence of the overall warming trend that certainly must lead to catastrophic climate change.
This is especially noticeable on the Weather Channel and many local weather broadcasts; proxies, like treerings and icecores are especially analyzable and apparently malleable, as well.
Late this summer, the HADCRUT historic data was withheld from FOI request (The Brits have their own version) and then it was announced that it was ‘lost.’
Well, somebody just found a big piece of it and may have more.

They can do that all they want but it won’t delete it from the servers it came in on! That is the beauty of epopel trying to do that, they get caught because the servers always store to info.
