Wal Mart does it again

Wal Mart does it again. The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled in favor of the chain store. In 2005, the store in Jonquiree, Quebec was closed because of the recent union certification of the stores employees. This, of course, led to various court runs by the displaced employees of the store. At the end of 2005, the Quebec Labor Board ordered Wal Mart to compensate the former employees. (http://wakeupwalmart.com/facts/) Friday, the Supreme Court of Canada has seen fit to rule 4-3 in favor of the company. As usual

All I’m saying is that everyone (employed) deserves to be able to feed their family and pay their bills.

From each according to their ability to each according to their need, huh?

Conservative?

You're a freakin' TROLL.

“First off, I’m a conservative (independent).”

Yeah, and I am a millionaire formula one champion race car driver. Anyone can claim to be anything when sitting at a keyboard.

I suppose you may THINK you are a Conservative, but you are not. Your words reveal that.

If you honestly believe you are a conservative then you don’t know what it means.

Espousing minimum wages, “living wages” and promoting unions is most definitely not Conservative. It is is in direct opposition to free market principles.

Unions are socialist organizations by their very nature.
Promote unions and you promote socialism.

I’m not supporting the union. I am suppoting the availability for those that wish to organize. Like I have said in responses today, I don’t agree with most of the tactics of the union. Nor do I believe in the extreme wages that they get their employees. Here’s an example, my aunt worked for Thompson Electronics in Marion, Indiana. She made 15.00 an hour to push a button once every 3 minutes. Her job wasn’t worth that type of money.
As for my political views, I believe in free market, that is not what this article is about. This article is about the unethical activities of a company that step on the rights of its workers.

I don’t like Walmart as I think much of what they sell is junk.

However, unions are working hard to destroy America so I have to side with Wally world on this one.

These businesses are not in competition with Walmart. And they are not the type of business that I am referring too.

I go to other stores and pay more for many things. Wally world gets to the cheapest prices by cutting quality. They order items with inferior materials so they don’t last as long. Some things are ok but you need to be careful.

“This article is about the unethical activities of a company that step on the rights of its workers.”

A company (employer) refusing to recognize, support, endorse, tolerate or employ members of unions is NOT unethical.

It is smart business.

There are no real workers rights except those that the employer offers or the government dictates. I believe they have to have a toilet nearby.

The idea is that if you hate your work environment, you can always go where the grass looks greener.

Most lower wage jobs are not by contract.

I disagree, everyone does deserve a living wage. As long as they are willing to work for it. :)

"All I’m saying is that everyone (employed) deserves to be able to feed their family and pay their bills"

So how much should they be forced to get paid then? By the government?

I'm sorry- I am not buying your "first off I am a conservative (libertarian)" I smell BS
