Wal Mart does it again

Wal Mart does it again. The Supreme Court of Canada has ruled in favor of the chain store. In 2005, the store in Jonquiree, Quebec was closed because of the recent union certification of the stores employees. This, of course, led to various court runs by the displaced employees of the store. At the end of 2005, the Quebec Labor Board ordered Wal Mart to compensate the former employees. (http://wakeupwalmart.com/facts/) Friday, the Supreme Court of Canada has seen fit to rule 4-3 in favor of the company. As usual

Monopolies are a bad thing.

The only entity that can sustain a monopoly is government legislation.

They are not a monopoly. Soon the government will be, and that is a really bad thing.

If you owned TWO businesses why did you go to work for WalMart? Maybe you do not have enough business sense to actually run a business profitably/

So, I have first hand knowledge of Wal Mart’s anti union stance.

Cool! I need to go to Walmart more.

I don’t believe that anyman is worth 35-40 dollars and hour.

What if a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk are $45.00? (It's closer than you think.)

What about all the small mom and pop stores the union thug run grocery stores force out of business?

We used to have 2 small family run grocery stores in town. Then Jewel and Dominicks came in and ran them out. Why is that any different?

I worked for Wal Mart and worked for a union run grocery store. was paid better and treated better at Wal Mart.

And the insurance numbers the anti Wal Mart union thugs use are purposely misleading. They include in those numbers people who are at wal Mart as a second PT job and are insured at their full time job (which group I was in), young people still covered by their parents and married people covered by their spouses.

I’m not a big Wal Mart person but since a lot of the bashing is based on lies put out by union thugs I stand up for them.

If people want to work for a union shop they can go work for a union shop. If they want to pay money out of their paychecks to keep the union leaders in million dollar mansions that should be their choice.

And only complete morons think the union would help Wal Mart employees. They only want the dues.

Since Wal Mart pays as much or more than the union thug run grocery stores that doesn’t even mean anything.

What about the stores the union thug run grocery stores run out of town?

Shortly after I moved into the house I am living in now a feral cat took up residence in my garage. It was sickly looking and I couldn't catch it with all the junk in the garage...I put out some milk and the cat came to the milk but as soon as it saw me it was off hiding again...It took several days of putting out food for it to get close enough to catch it and put it in a box. I grabbed it from behind its front legs, but it still bit me and wouldn't let go until I dropped it into the box...

I took it to the animal control for the county about 12 miles away and by that time my index finger was twice its normal size...anyway to make a long story short, the public health nurse called me and told me I had 72 hours to get to the doctor for tetanus shots...

I went and the doctor wrote a prescription for a new antibiotic because cat bites are bad as they can lead to bone infection's due to the needle like teeth that can puncture or scratch a bone...

I went to Wal Mart (my first trip to one) with the prescription and it would cost 200 dollars for a 10 day supply. When I said "ouch" the gal behind the counter said to wait a minute, and she called my doctor...the doctor told her to send me back to her office as she and the other doctors in the clinic could get enough of the antibiotic for me without charge. (samples they had). After that I decided Wal Mart was the place to get drugs as they would do you good if they could.

This was several years before they started their discount prescription plan....

They certainly will work with you, and in my case give up money to see that I got my medication....

I have nothing but good to say about that company...

Ran the construction for 5 years-30 employees and sub-contratced throughout Indiana. Only gave it up so my wife wouldn’t get anything in the divorce. Landscaping for 2 1/2 years, shut it down when I got married and styed in Indiana. Worked at Walmart as a second job to pay for a disabled son’s medical when my factory insurance ran out.

I’ve said any business that is set on killing the mom and pop operations were wrong. That includes union stores like the ones you mention.

Why didn't you just give her what she wanted?

I mean, Walmart should have done that with the employees, right? Oh, what's good for Walmart isn't good for you....

The unions are nothing more than mobs dressed in worker’s clothing.

Great news! Good for Wal-Mart.
I am already looking forward to getting all my Christmas shopping done at one of their super centers!

All I’m saying is that everyone (employed) deserves to be able to feed their family and pay their bills.

No they don't. If you're employed and unable to feed your family and pay your bills, then you should find a better job. Educate yourself if you have to, but find a higher-paying job. Better yet, start your own business - - work for yourself instead of for somebody else. It really is that simple. Basic economics. It is called capitalism and it is the basis of the economic system which has produced the greatest nation in history.

In Marion a few years back, 3M told the employees to take a union vote. Then gave them a 3 day break. When the workers got back, the doors were locked and the equipment was gone.

LOL, that's excellent!
