Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin may or may not be a viable 2012 presidential candidate, but the bowling industry is probably hoping she is at least a better bowler than President Obama.
Palin will be giving the keynote address at the International Bowl Expo 2010 in June of next year, the Bowling Proprietors' Association of America (BPAA) announced today.
Dubbed the bowling industry's "premier international convention," the expo will take place between June 27 and July 1 at the Las Vegas Hilton and Las Vegas Convention Center. Palin's keynote speech is slated for the morning of June 30.
The BPAA said in a press release the industry "rolled a strike" in securing Palin's presence at the event.(continued)

I worked for BPAA several years ago. Great bunch of folks, representing hardworking, predominantly small-business owners. Yeah, there are several chains of bowling alleys, but most are mom-and-pop shops.
Good for them!
I can just see Master Snark at MSNBC, Keith Olbermann, having a field day with this, not to mention HuffPost
Daily Kos, Bill Maher, etc.
I agree; but she is a private citizen, and she is building a war chest for SarahPAC and eventually 2012 (crossing fingers).
And frankly the more they attack her, the more I love her, and her following continues to increase.
No “buts” about it: I thought they’d have a field day because she’s allying herself with BOWLING, which the snotty elitist Left thinks is the exclusive province of Philistines, Yahoos, and Uncouth Knuckle-Draggers/
None of the folks I named have any constituency among bowlers (or so they think), so they’ll have no trouble alienating them by saying something snarky.
