If he had been a civilian he would probably be in jail.

Don’t know. Backgrounds look a little too third world, even for El Paso. Don’t doubt was a self-defense shooting as described. It just probably took place somewhere else.
That said, the power of the .40 cal is evident in the getaway cyclist’s arms (3rd criminal). (Broke both of them -probably cut one or both of the arteries as well.)
Wherever it happened, it’s another happy ending.

Note the business name in the background - Gravia, I think it is. When you Google them you’ll find they have stores in Central America and Mexico, but not the U.S.

Per their website, the company in the background has 4 stores in the Federal District, meaning Mexico City, I think. They make building supplies.

If he had been a civilian he would probably be in jail. Not in Texas. You may lawfully use deadly force to prevent a felony or to prevent a felon from escaping.
He'd have been no-billed.

The S&W .40 is a nasty cartridge with pretty powerful ballistics that can really mess someone up. I have its bigger more powerful brother the 10-mm Auto which has .41 Magnum like firepower and would do a far worse job than seen on these thugs.
