Not happy with having played games to fill Ted Kennedy's seat , Pauk Kirk is now threatening to remain in the Senate after the health care vote if Scott Brown, the Republican challenger wins.
At what point will the people of Massachusetts decide they've had enough of this skullduggery?Red Mass Group reports:
Today Paul Kirk told the State House News service that he would continue to serve in the United States Senate until the health care vote is taken if Scott Brown wins the election.
"Absolutely," Kirk said, when asked if he'd vote for the bill, even if Brown captures the seat. "It would be my responsibility as United States Senator, representing the people and understanding Senator Kennedy's agenda and the rest of it ... I think you're asking me a hypothetical question but I'd be pleased to vote for the bill."
The Scott Brown Campaign had the following to say about Paul Kirk's admission.
This is a stunning admission by Paul Kirk and the Beacon Hill political machine today. Paul Kirk appears to be suggesting that he, Deval Patrick, and Harry Reid intend to stall the election certification until the health care bill is rammed through Congress, even if that means defying the will of the people of Massachusetts. As we've already seen from the backroom deals and kickbacks cut by the Democrats in Washington, they intend to do anything and everything to pass their controversial health care plan. But threatening to ignore the results of a free election and steal this Senate vote from the people of Massachusetts takes their schemes to whole new level. Martha Coakley should immediately disavow this threat from one of her campaign's leading supporters.
First Deval Patrick and the legislature changed the law so that Paul Kirk would be a vote for health care. Today the Beacon Hill machine threatened to instigate a Constitutional crisis if Scott Brown is elected.

Update:
Tim Graham of Newsbusters describes the apparent plan:
Frank Quaratiello of the Boston Herald is reporting something shocking: if Brown wins, Massachusetts Democrats may drag out his certification as the victor to enable appointed Sen. Paul Kirk (the former DNC chairman) to put ObamaCare over the top.
"We want to get this resolved before President Obama's State of the Union address in early to mid-February," Kirk told reporters at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce breakfast...
"Absolutely," Kirk said, when asked if he'd vote for the bill, even if Brown captures the seat. "It would be my responsibility as United States senator, representing the people and understanding Senator Kennedy's agenda. . . . I think you're asking me a hypothetical question but I'd be pleased to vote for the bill."
After all the rule-bending shenanigans of the Massachusetts Democrats, leaving a dying Kennedy in office, and then ramrodding Kirk's appointment to the Senate to help ObamaCare, now they're desperate enough to ignore the people's vote?

Prof Wm Jacobson (Legal Insurrection) is covering this, too. He says the people should call the Dems’ bluff:
Quote:
The Democratic scheme will delay Brown’s certification even if Brown is the clear winner.
Voters need to call the Democrats’ bluff. The deliberate delay of Brown’s certification in order to push through the health care bill will cause a political explosion unlike anything we have seen before.
There are certain red lines which no one has crossed before. And refusing to seat a duly elected Senator, for the sole purpose of excluding that Senator from voting on a particular piece of legislation, crosses that line.
Democrats are threatening to break the democratic links which bind us as a nation. The electoral outrage at such a tactic will be generational, and the Democratic leadership in Washington knows it.
If on the day of the health care vote, the duly elected Scott Brown shows up at the Senate to claim his seat for the vote, will Harry Reid instruct the Capitol Police to bar Brown from the chamber and from casting his vote? Will that be the legacy of health care “reform”?
The voters of Massachusetts need to call the Democrats bluff on this.
If Kirk stays in after the election, a Federal court injunction should be sought. What’s Kirk’s authority to remain in office?

To the Patriots in Massachusetts.
Take a page from the IRANIAN PEOPLE.!!!!!. YES THE IRANIAN PEOPLE.
They were able to mobilize the masses by using twitter. They posted sites and meeting places by using this medium and successfully mounted a movement that up until today resonates in their country.
Use this technology to inform on the precincts that have abnormalities such as, low turnout, intimidation by ACORN, and irregularities in absentee ballots. Send patriots to counter peacefully these abnormalities. Those actions should make this election more characteristic of the people’s wishes.
The Kennedy Machine, ACORN, and the mechanism they have in place, are design to cheat us of our vote. Only SHEAR NUMBERS will tilt the democratic process in your favor.
Use twitter to report on low turnout in the precincts, call the voters that are unable to go to the polls and facilitate the means to get there. Be vigilant of intimidation and reported. If you use this technology right, you will prevail and give the people of Massachusetts a chance to make history.
Go Patriots.
A coup d'état (pronounced /ˌkuːdeɪˈtɑː/, us dict: kōō′·dā·tâ′), or coup for short, is the sudden unconstitutional deposition of a legitimate government, usually by a small group of the existing state establishment — typically the military — to replace the deposed government with another, either civil or military. A coup d’état succeeds when the usurpers establish their legitimacy if the attacked government fail to thwart them, by allowing their (strategic, tactical, political) consolidation and then receiving the deposed government’s surrender; or the acquiescence of the populace and the non-participant military forces.
Typically, a coup d’état uses the extant government’s power to assume political control of the country. In Coup d'État: A Practical Handbook, military historian Edward Luttwak says: "A coup consists of the infiltration of a small, but critical, segment of the state apparatus, which is then used to displace the government from its control of the remainder”, thus, armed force (either military or paramilitary) is not a defining feature of a coup d’État.
Be not that far from me, for trouble is near; haste Thee to help me. Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
The living breathing Constitution of course. Probably the Commerce Clause.
There will be no Constitutional crisis. The comments by Kirk are simply meant to warn the People’s Republic of Taxachussetts that if Brown wins, he will vote against Obamacare, thereby keeping Brown from winning. If any state supports Obamacare, it’s MA.
Oh, I get it. The democrats are going for the “domestic” enemy title. That makes things easier.

Court injunctions or whatever - forget it. Get the ropes & guns & take back the country from these tyrannical A-holes.
In MINUTE, this threat would probably motivate voters to vote for Brown just for the entertainment value. In MA, it will motivate the voters to vote against him.
Well, to be fair, they do on occasion:
Not that it says much...
The Obama administration will leap into action to ensure that democracy and the will of the people are not thwarted.
Oops, they meant Honduras.
