I have just fully gotten my account started on this site. I have read Free Republic for a few years now. But I believe it is important to get the message of what the Republic is out to all. I am retired from the US NAVY, Dad to four, grand-dad to eight, Married to Sharon since 1983. I have survived cancer. I lost my left kidney to it this past September. Conservative almost to a fault as I was brought up as a liberal democrat. Mom was a teacher and Dad was a telephone lineman(IBEW). Voted for a Democrat for president once, George McGovern in 72. I was 18 and din't know any better. By the time Jimmy Carter ran, I had been aboard USS Independence for almost three years and things had changed. Looking forward to the fun this could be.
