Bear Hug (Great Pictures)
The Great White Hunter ^ | 1/29/10 | Ryan Benson

In these series of photos, you will see a polar bear come upon some sled dogs tethered to a steak. Normally you would think that a dog tethered to a steak would be lunch for a polar bear, but these pictures tell a completely different story. From what I can see, the polar bear just wanted to play and get a little brotherly love. The professional photographer who took these photos said, the bear came back every night that week to play with the dogs. Excellent photos, taken by Norbert Rosing when he was in the wilds around Canada’s Hudson Bay.

There are a few more images here the

Cool Animal Photo Ping!

You really need to check out these photos of a wild polar bear hugging a tethered sled dog. Yes you read correctly, the dog is tied up and instead of lunch, the bear wants a hug

Normally you would think that a dog tethered to a steak would be lunch for a polar bear. . . .

I would think the *steak* would be lunch for the polar bear. Now if they were tethered to a *stake*, that's a different matter.

I’d like to teach the world to sing

I’d like to build the world a home
And furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees
And snow-white turtle doves

Chorus:
I’d like to teach the world to sing
In perfect harmony
I’d like to hold it in my arms
And keep it company
(That’s the song I hear)
I’d like to see the world for once
(Let the world sing today)
All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills
For peace throughout the land
That’s the song I hear
(That’s the song I hear)
Let the world sing today
(Let the whole wide world keep singing)
A song of peace that echoes on
And never goes away

(Repeat 1st stanza and Chorus)

Put your hand in my hand
Let’s begin today
Put your hand in my hand
Help me find a way

I suppose I’ll just have to teak your word for the fact that there’s a steak at the end of that chain. But if the dogs are truly tethered to a steak, wouldn’t they be eating the steak and if they were, wouldn’t the bear be going after the steak too?

And how “tethered” would the dog’s be if all that’s at the end of the chain is a steak? Couldn’t they drag it off wherever they wish to go?

Or did you mean that by getting them to hunker down at the steak and eat it, they’d stay put? Except, that what happens after they finish parteaking of the steak?

Where is the third picture showing the chain sticking out of the polar bear’s mouth?

I thought the ice and snow where melted and the bears all starving. You would think he would just eat the dogs and the steaks.

The bear wasn’t hungry at the moment.

Fatima, I know you’re always giving out free hugs. I thought maybe you could use some free bear hugs to refill your supply.

LOL....

I really hate it when I miss spell a word. It is usually just a matter of time before someone comes along and makes a wise ass comment to make me feel stupid.....

Oh well.

That is why I use an editor when I write my syndicated columns.

Polar bears are remarkably intelligent and see the world as being something more than that eternal, gnawing hunger ~

Here you see our successor species suppressing his animal nature to achieve something greater.
