Arianna Huffington and Hugh Hewitt Debate Whether Glenn Beck "Goes Too Far" - Video

Here is video of Arianna Huffington and Hugh Hewitt, on "Reliable Sources," debating whether Glenn Beck has "gone too far." (Video)

Arianna said that Glenn Beck takes "apocalyptic statements that basically fuel peoples fear and anxiety and has made them his talking trade, practically no show is done without some kind of form of inciting fear in the American people and I think that's dangerous especially in a time like this."

Huffington was asked why she did not apply the same standard she has for Beck when she was asked on MSNBC about Rahm Emanuel's recent use of the word "retarded," she dismissed it as "political correctness" and said "let's not talk about it." She called it "a very different category" and even though "he should not have used it, it's not the kind of firing offense that Sarah Palin made it out to be." Hewitt called this a "selective use of a particular standard" and told Huffington that she's "got to give this up."

They also discussed why Huffington did not criticize Keith Olbermann's recent remarks calling Scott Brown "racist" and a "supporter of violence against women" among many other things. Arianna said it was because "Jon Stewart" criticized him and because Olbermann later "apologized" for "going over the top." Hewitt called Olbermann "a joke" and "a sportscaster who doesn't know anything."

whether Glenn Beck has "gone too far."

That should be an easy question to settle. Just refute what he says. If he's that crazy and that far off the mark, just refute him. Should be easy.

How about a debate as to whether or not Huffington has sold herself to Soros and did he make a good bargain.

Two faces have I: “Huffington did not criticize Keith Olbermann...” - Yet asks if Beck has gone too far...indeed...

Who cares (or watches or listens to or reads) what the Huffer has to say? It’s so predictable anyway.

yeah, but does she say anything about being able to prove Glen’s statements as factually UNTRUE? that’s all I really care about right now...I could give a flying fig about HOW he presents it.

Did Arianna go to far in marrying a wealthy Republican homosexual to get her career started? I know someone who worked for her during that time and she is not a nice person.

Arianna said that Glenn Beck takes "apocalyptic statements that basically fuel peoples fear and anxiety and has made them his talking trade, practically no show is done without some kind of form of inciting fear in the American people and I think that's dangerous especially in a time like this."

I'd like to ask Arianna what she means by "especially in a time like this". Is she referring to the fact that the man occupying our White House hates America, is prosecuting our soldiers more aggressively than he targets terrorists, and is incompetent to lead our country's foreign affairs? Or perhaps she is referring to the fact that we are spending more than $1.5T a year more than we bring in and that this crippling debt is being passed on to our children immorally. Exactly what is it about times like this, when we are facing the greatest danger in the history of our country from an internal threat that hates freedom as much as Hitler and Stalin did, that makes this a bad time to exercise our First Amendment rights by speaking out against evil?

I actually think it’s dangerous to debate whether talk show hosts are affecting the state of the union or not.

We’ve got to keep our eye on the ones who are actually destroying our nation: the politicians.

Don’t tell me let me guess, Huffandpuffington thinks Beck is too partisan as opposed to her website. Did she mention how much she makes from her sewer?

Pray for America’s Troops

According to Glenn Beck himself, Arianna once asked him to join her website. Has anyone asked her why she would want such an “extremist” to join her on her own website?
