Debra Medina Now Considering Senate Run?
phone survey | 02-22-2010 | Rose In Rosebear

Posted on 02/22/2010 10:14:16 AM PST by Rose in RoseBear

So I get a call this morning from a polling company. (I like getting these political survey calls; I like making the callers laugh.)

The questions all concerned the possible special election for Kay-Baby's Senate seat, which she swears she will vacate (I have my doubts). Although the poller asked about many candidates, the questions all seemed to center around Democrat John Sharp.

The list of possible candidates running against Sharp included:

There were three or four others, whose names I didn't recognize.

The poller asked who I would vote for if given the choice between Sharp and Medina, and I told her I would write in Mickey Mouse. She laughed, and asked me why I didn't like Medina. I had to explain Trutherism, and the poller (who had a strong NY accent) seemed amazed to learn that such people existed.

I was amazed to learn that Debra Medina was considered a viable candidate for the Senate. Has anyone else heard this?

i would take Medina over Kay and Perry anyday

Yep some would. That’s why they have races to see what the majority would take.

Who would choose Medina over Michael Williams?

Not conservatives. Trufers, I guess.

When? In 2012? After Kay Bailout Hutchison loses her primary bid against Perry, I bet she’ll just serve out the rest of her term that expires January 3, 2013. The field of candidates in the 2012 Republican primary to replace Hutchison will be extremely deep. There will be lots of heavyweight candidates like Railroad Commissioner Michael Williams and Attorney General Greg Abbott. Medina is an extreme lightweight in comparison.

So I get a call this morning from a polling company.

I got a call from Michael Reagan yesterday with a poll. Unfortunately, after his intro he hung up on me. Whatever.

I don’t like pointing out sign up dates since you never know if it’s an old FRiend with another moniker, but with all the weirdness going on in recent days that guy’s was just last week.

I cannot believe anyone now considers Medina a viable candidate for any office.

This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you can’t answer “did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks?” you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.

For God's sake, has anybody really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?

She wants legalized drugs.

She backs gay marriage.

.

She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!

http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609 What does this say about this woman's character? And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.

Take a look at some of the statements she has made: "It’s a shame isn’t it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’

"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

"I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.” (Obummer, is that you?)

I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border!

La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!

Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.

Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. She’s a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time. Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.

Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Senora Medina. You're Texas toast.

It’s actually funny to think of Medina going to Washington. She’d do us less harm, because she’d rant and rave and make it less likely that anything would get done.

I’d still like to hear about one bill she’s lobbied for in Austin, one night when she sat up waiting for her turn to testify in committee, or where she was when we FReepers were protesting in Austin because the dems ran to OK or NM or why she didn’t join us in Washington for so many of our rallies, so many times.

You’re wrong about Cornyn. Absolutely.
He’s prolife, pro gun, pro family, small government, and pro border enforcement. His only fault is that he let them name him chair of the Republican Senate Committee and feels he has to have loyalty to the powers that be when it comes to their chosen candidates.

I am a friend of Debra’s and I can tell you that she has no intention of running for the Senate. Period and end of story. We intend for her to be the next Governor of Texas. And by the way, someone on here called her a “media whore”. Can’t you intelligently disagree with someone without getting personal? That would be like her calling you a bastard. You don’t know her and I’m absolutely sure she doesn’t know someone who talks the kind of trash you are. Yes, I’m incensed. Go vote for one of the arrogant aristocracy and just keep on going downhill, financially, morally, etc. People like you are why we are all in the mess we are in.
