Folks and Friends at Free Republic
I just wanted to inform you that one of the computers I have at home has COMPUTER ASSOCIATES' SECURITY CENTER installed on it as part of the package I have with my recent Internet and cable service provider -- CABLEVISION.
This is the CA SECURITY CENTER VERSION 4.0.0.205
Now, everytime I try to access FR on this computer, it blocks me with the following reason :

I have to override it by entering an administrative password to temporarily allow the FR site to go through my browser.
Out of curiosity, I tried going to the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND site and lo and behold, the CA Parental Control software ALLOWED the site with no problems.
Just wanted you people to be aware of this double standard.

No one is passing judgement. I cleared up an wrong statement. Someone said there is no profanity and I said yes there is. You attacked my character and some people came to my defense.

How to call someone a liar without outright violating FR policy about calling people liars.
I’m a she too - I had to “hide” myself (got a new screen name in 2003) for personal reasons; all gone now.
I had such a bad mouth - no excuses... I’ve let it go a bit too far lately and I’m glad this subject has come up because I should watch myself. It’s not that I think no one should ever say a “bad” word but if used at all it should be in circumstances that are warranted, and some words are so digusting they should certainly not ever be used in mixed company, which an open forum is!
And when ***s are used, it’s pretty much the same as writing the word (if you can figure out what it is!)
Cussing is the easy way out.
Remember that really long comment (it got embroidered) that people would post? Like a really long insult? No cuss words, just *very* descriptive insults! Now that’s a good example of how to insult or put down using nice clean English words!
Yes I they are always really quick to delete offensive posts. That was not the point though.
I tried washing my keyboard out with a cup of tea and it didn’t work. After that.
I’ve seen them posted numerous times on FR.
I’ve also seen them deleted numerous times.
Tell us, how does one provide evidence that they saw something?

Thanks, BB! As I said a few minutes ago, sometimes strong language is needed, and fighting against the homo-nazi agenda sometimes warrants it.

Why do you insinuate that everyone who has seen cussing on FR is from DU? I have provided you with links to those words on FR and you asked me to stop posting it. First you ask for evidence and when it is provided you ask for me to stop providing it. What is your problem?
If Jim Robinson wants to use profanity, that is his right. It is his forum. All I said was that you can find curse words on FR. You just proved my point.

I have seen it, I have also reported it, it has been removed. There are now NOT that many posts on FR containing curse words BECAUSE plenty of people used them but the mods removed PLENTY of them and now there are only a few left which IS the point of the whole conversation. YOU CAN FIND CURSE WORDS ON FR>
You proved your point before I ever got here, Sis. (Can I call you “Sis?”) Several other FReepers proved your point before I got here. I’m pleased I was able to add to the large body of evidence though.
What we all see is,... “I have seen plenty of people on FR using foul language.” which is not the same as saying,... “Nobody said there were plenty of posts on FR containing curse words either.”
What do those posts have to do with each other?
We can have plenty of people on FR using cuss words without there being plenty of posts on FR which contain cuss words. They are NOT the same thing.
Is your brain short-circuiting?
And, although the forum isn't really for children there is plenty here for young minds to chew on in terms of political and societal discussion. I know of some children who do read FR and are pretty sharp because of it. It would be too bad if they were barred from viewing conversations about politics and American history here.
I admit I have used some foul language myself and it didn't add to my point.
This is not a personal attack but a statement of opinion. You could use a course in logic.

There was more than one instance but I only needed one to prove my point. Yeah that’s an ugly word.
