This Is The Most Important Article You’ve Ever Read
The Waking Giant; National Center for Constitutional Studies ^ | 3-2-2010 | Earl Taylor, Jr.

Posted on 03/03/2010 1:16:18 PM PST by Whenifhow

I’ve read thousands of articles on the subject of Socialism and Communism over several years now, and this one is BY FAR the very best one. With pinpoint accuracy, it explains the situation we’re currently in as well as how we got here. It was written by The National Center For Constitutional Studies.

Please print it out and BEG people to read it, unbiased. This is extremely important. I truly believe there are a lot of people who voted for this administration who had good intentions. They just don’t yet realize they’ve been hijacked and the scope of the problem we face. This article might just convince them.

.....the Founders discovered that powerful people have nearly always sought to gain mastery over others. Whether by force or by slow deceptive means, power-hungry individuals have sought to thrust themselves into positions where they can control the lives, liberty, and property of others. The distaste for this kind of control is what led Thomas Jefferson to proclaim, “I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal vigilance against every form of tyranny over the mind of man.” Generally, this kind of power, which tends to pander to the pretended needs of the masses and thereby invades the unalienable rights of individuals, is known as socialism.

I realize Free Republic readers are well informed on this particular topic, since many follow Glenn Beck’s tv program.

However, The Waking Giant is a great resource for 2nd Amendment issues and thought you would like to know about it.

There are many good points in the article but all are way out of date. If the author is going to write an article, at least update the sources. Such items as the Soviet Union, that does not exist any more or references to McCarthy really make the article look like a school kid’s effort where it is all gathered out of a 50 year old set of encyclopedias.

The Most Important Article....NOT!

In defense of Whenifhow posting this article and in defense of the article’s title...

Even though the “preaching to the choir” poster is one of the best things I’ve ever seen...

And even though I had the same thought about the article being a little dated, especially when it emphasizes the Soviet Union...

I still think there is a great need to spread this kind of article far and wide.

When a huge number of Americans don’t see what the big problem is with Socialism (as a recent poll showed), you have to accept the reality that far too many citizens have no clue how close we are to losing every single one of the few freedoms we have left.

It is up to us to educate Americans on just how evil Socialism really is... articles like this help.

I’m going to share this with my 19 year old. For her, and anyone she might share it with, it just might be the most important article they have ever read.

Thank you, Whenifhow!

follow Beck to be informed

It is not a matter of following Glenn Beck to be informed, it is a matter of "listening" to Glenn Beck to become better informed.

Starting in the elementary grades your teachers taught you how to think, not what to think. Listening to Glenn Beck is a similar exercise. Glenn Beck provides verifiable information but it is up to the individual to draw their own conclusions.

I guess your post was “The Most Important Post” of all time. Why is it in bad taste? He is preaching to the choir.

Most people here already understand “the problem”.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I don't they they do. If they really did, they would not send their children to our socialist-funded, single-payer, government K-12 schools!

If people really understood the problem they would be working like crazy to abolish government K-12 schooling. They would be doing everything they could to give every child in this nation an opportunity for low cost, conservative education that teaches the faith of our fathers and the founding principles of our nation.

“17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Socialist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks.”

Please note that point#17 fails to understand that creating a system of socialist funded, single-payer, government schools was the wet dream of the mid- 19th century Utopian reformers. These schools, teacher training, and textbook development has **always** been in the control of the Utopian progressives since the first one opened in the mid-1800s! The push has **always** been toward more and more socialism, Marxism, and atheistic secularism.

Simply by attending, children have **always** learned the government has the power of police force to take money from their neighbor to pay for a service their parents want for tuition-free! Well?..If government can take money for schooling, why not a thousand other socialist wants and needs?

So....Conservatives, what's the plan to save our nation's children? If we don't act now to save our nation's children, we **will** be SLAVES. ( Yes, it is that serious!)

The problem we have is an uninformed citizenry who care more about American Idol and Britney Spears. I had a high school teacher tell me that one day America would entertain herself out of existence. Meaning Americans all they want to do is party. At the time (i was 16) i thought it was jibberish. HOW TRUE IT IS! I have Coworkers who voted for Obama and can only say it was time for a change. They were clueless.

Look, Barack is not the problem, the dems are not the problem. They are symptoms. The American People who are socialists are the problem. We conservatives can’t live with them anymore. It’s over. We are too divided. When we finally collapse economically, then who will pick up the pieces? That is the question. Until then, nothing will change.

I could not agree with you more! Have you read “Against School” by John Taylor Gatto (a former NYC and New York State Teacher of the Year?). It will break your heart to realize the prison-like system we have forced the children of our country to suffer through for 12 years of their young lives! http://www.wesjones.com/gatto1.htm

In addition to changing education, we MUST change the tax code. Our current monstrosity of a code has some of the same damaging characteristics of the public school system.

It gives citizens the idea that the gov’t has the right to take someone’s property (their income) and give it to another person who did nothing to earn it. The gov’t taking half of your income is no different from them taking half of anything else you own. It’s yours.

Yes, we have to pay taxes to support our country, but no one should pay a higher percentage of their income than any other citizen.

The reason politicians spend half of their time demonizing “the rich” is to make them seem less-than-human and inherently dishonest in the public’s eyes.

If the public sees “the rich” as bad people who somehow stole their income from others, then the public won’t feel so bad when a politician stands up and says that he is going to take half of it and give it to them in exchange for their vote. In any other instance, honest people would see that as theft.

(Yes, there are rich jerks who fit the stereotype, but there are jerks along every inch of the income spectrum and being a jerk does not justify theft of their private property.)

Besides punishing work and rewarding sloth, the tax code wastes billions of dollars, causes millions of jobs to go overseas, divides Americans up into an unlimited number of deductions and special interest groups and turns ordinary law-abiding individuals into tax cheats. There is no reason a tax code has to do any of those things in order to collect taxes!

Education and the tax code... two things that have destroyed the fabric of our nation and two things that must change!

(Just fyi, I’m no Joe Stack... I want to bring about those changes peacefully through the ballot box... and maybe even through the courts, but not with violence.)
