In the healthcare debate during the last few months, the issue of creating a small armed force under the control of the President seems to have escaped notice. The legislation that creates this para-military force purports to pre-empt the authority of State governors to control their own National Guard, absent war, which the Constitution does not authorize.

What Obama has always wanted - his own para-military force.
Napolitano was discussing this issue on Fox News a few minutes ago as I passed by the TV in our breakroom. He appeared to be fairly riled up.

Seems to me we gave everything away in 2006 and 2008.
I think we got what we deserve as a country because of the voters by 52% wanted "Hope and Change".
Never asked what that "hopey, changie thing might include, even though whatshisname told us much of the changes he intended to give us.
One in particular was nationalized health care. Another was redistribute the wealth.
His private civilian Army hasn't surfaced yet, but I am sure it is in the making and will be used against any citizen of this country that goes against his (whatshisname's) will. Elections really do have consequences.

They wear Naval uniforms. They've worn Naval uniforms since the 1870s. I don't know if they keep up with the latest USN styles, but every officer is required to own service blues, summer whites, and khakis. When deployed to Haiti, they wore woodland BDUs with black undershirts. They seem to prefer black ballcaps with rank and scrambled eggs.
The Judge is riled, because this Obamaidiot is trying to do yet something else that is completely UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!

The bill was purposely designed TO fail economically. Why?-—When the math fails and insurance companies boost rates, Obama will be “forced” to take them over and convert to “single payer”. Then pharma and med devices become part of the problem, or some other free market factor, and Obama is “forced” to institute government run health care, under control of the Surgeon General, via the new “Ready Reserve” powers in the health care bill.

Strange thing to put in the health bill, wasn’t it. Under the Ready Reserve, the President can appoint anyone and order them into service in an emergency.

the conscript army of medical personnel, reportable to the President (and maybe his small selected “Council of Governors” juts formed by an EO), formed under the guise of the Public Health Service, could well be a stalking horse for expansion into other “critical national emergency requirements”
