Gibbs Says Obama is NOT "Proposing" a Value-Added Tax, "Nor is it Being Considered" - Video

Here is video of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs saying President Obama is not considering a "Value-Added Tax." Gibbs was asked if it was under consideration "at any level" in the administration, and Gibbs repeated twice that the President has "not proposed" such a tax, nor is it being considered.

This denial, of course, means very little. Obama has appointed a "bi-partisan" debt commission that will report to him after the Midterm elections on what needs to be done to deal with our massive debt. It is likely that group will be the vehicle to propose such a Value-Added Tax, which will give Obama cover to then support it "for the good of the country."

There are two things that could come remotely close to the Government being able to pay anything substantive on the debt: 1) implement a value added tax and force everyone who uses or purchase anything to help pay, or 2) seize the contents of all IRAs, 401Ks, etc. and nationalize any private pension (replace with pittance-added SS retirement payments). There simply isn't enough other sufficient money to accomplish that goal, period.
