Obama Incites Anti-Arizona Sentiment;Turns Back on Border Security

In the face of increased crime and violence as Mexico’s cartels increase their grip on the immigrant and drug smuggling trails along the southern US border, what are states like Arizona supposed to do? Arizona has implemented a law that should eliminate the practice of sanctuary cities in the state. The bill makes it a misdemeanor under state law to be in the state illegally. The law also sets the circumstances under which police may inquire about immigration status, specifically stating that racial profiling cannot be used.

Obama has commented on the law, promising to have his Justice Department look into the legality of the legislation. I can understand the President still not having time to read the 2700 page healthcare bill, but before he maligns a state he should take the time to read the 16 page immigration bill. “What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials given the power to stop people on the suspicions that they may be undocumented workers,” Obama told reporters. “That carries a great amount of risk.”

Risk? What may carry more risk for the President is the political fight that it would take to offer any solution of his own. The AP’s Julie Pace reported today that Barack Obama feels federal immigration reform is best left on the back burner, reporting;

My fervent prayer. Perhaps one day we shall be able to exfiltrate his Kenyan ass through the very same porous border on a trek back to his friggin homeland.

I think the move by Arizona was excellent in more ways than one. They set the parameters with what essentially amounts to a pre-emptive strike, instead of waiting to get clobbered by D.C. and then reacting after the fact which would have allowed the dirtbags in D.C. to define and set the issues instead. They're off-script for now and all the sputtering going on is music to the ears.

"Obama told reporters. “That carries a great amount of risk.” "

Risk? What risk is obama talking about? Is he afraid the drug supply will be cut off if they stop the illegal traffic? Or that it might be harder for drugs to come into the country?

Hmmmmm Makes you wonder about democrats motives for not wanting to uphold this countries laws. Just saying.

Thanks for the comment. I agree Arizona is setting the stage. They are also getting ready to expand the debate by limiting racial divisiveness in ethnic studies classes. There will be some uproar from this one, but again if people read the bill it is based on American values.

"Obama has commented on the law, promising to have his Justice Department look into the legality of the legislation."

Obama's Justice Department is going to discover that Arizona's immigration enforcement law almost exactly mirrors the federal version, which has been on the books since 1940.

It appears that Obama spoke "stupidly".

Arizona handed the Regime a crap sandwich with all the fixins'. They can sling mud at Arizona all they want, but the bottom line is it is they - the Regime in D.C. - who are on the defensive. They have to try and somehow explain why they don't want established law enforced and upheld, why they are against there being law & order in the state of Arizona, which by a number of accounts is in something of an crisis situation. They have to try and cognitively present why they are willing to go against the peace and stability of an entire state for the sake of political expediency. It's a matter of defending the undefensible. It will be interesting to see how they try to scheme their way out of this one.

And it amplifies the fact that the current regime is making the American people the enemy. Now they are turning on a state, and I'm willing to bet if it continues, other conservative states will come to Arizona's defense.

I don't wish for this, but my gut instinct tells me that this is going to get bigger and bigger....possibly to where we were before the civil war. This time it will be about states fighting for their freedom from tyranny. Like I said, I hope it doesn't get to that but these leftists are like rabid dogs and will stop at nothing to force their will.

They won’t be burning crosses...unless they’ve got a conservative Christian strapped to it. The way this government is acting right now, it has the very likely possibility of descending into a third/forth world dictatorship like Mugabe or Idi Amin.....

Yes, their actions are driving states and locales back towards individual sovereignty and local control, which is the original government configuration that the Founders had designed and intended. Things are not bad yet, but we can certainly see that potential on the horizon. And in the event things really get off in the ditch, it will naturally default to the people in the states and individual locales to pull together to keep the lights on, the toilets flushing and civilization going in general in spite of what the reprobates in Washington are doing or desire, with issues of survival trumping politics. This is where governors, legislators, county commissioners, mayors and city councilmen will have to have steel in their spines to hold their ground and hold to what is right and what they must do, not what is expedient for the adversarial agendas of non-resident political interlopers. States and locales doing what they must for themselves in order to live outside any destructive centralized micromanagement won't be tolerable to the D.C. gang. Their political power and revenue streams would be in peril if that was allowed so they would have to negotiate, co-opt, cajole and threaten any strays back into the fold or they would be done for and they know it. Look around you where you live at and weigh whether or not your mayor, county commissioner, state legislator or governor would have what it would take to stand up for their constituents and not submit to counterproductive or even destructive demands from distant oppressors.

That would make an excellent retort to any Obamanista who opened their trap to sling mud at Arizona.
