Obama, U.S. Gov't Downplay Jihadist Threat in Failed NYC Bombing

Once again, the Obama Administration and the U.S. Government are downplaying the danger inherent in the Jihadist threat encapsulated in the failed NYC bombing last night.

Although early indications from NYC, FBI, and Homeland Security point to the possibility of a terrorist attack by a Muslim in retaliation against the TV show South Park's negative portrayal of 'the prophet' Muhammad, so far the government and the media in general have all but dismissed this key component of the failed attack and have even suggested that panic in the wake of the bomb threat was 'overkill.'

It is clearly not overkill for the multi-thousands in the area to panic at the thought of a bomb exploding in one of the busiest tourist areas of the world, Times Square in NYC, particularly when bomb experts have stated that had the blast been successful it would injured and killed multi-thousands and demolished numerous buildings in the area, including crowded theaters, restaurants, and other popular attractions.

Yet the New York City Police Department reportedly told Homeland Security to 'stand down' and that 'there was no indication of this being a terrorist attack.'

Earlier this morning I read a post that indicated that Al Qaida is taking responsibility for the attempted bombing. But that doesn’t play to Obama’s meme, so I’m sure it’ll end up being some militia.

They are doing everything to downplay this. Our lib paper, the st Petersberg Times, didn’t even see fit to put it on the front page - anywhere.

They did have “GLOOM DEEPENS” over the oil spill. Not downgrading the spill, but that’s much more their template. Not evil terrorists that tried to kill thousands, but evil oil companies.

Unfortunately, some American citizens are going to have to die before the remaining adults in the Congress will insist that the infants who make up the Obama administration give up any power that they have.

It has been twice recently, that we know of, that Obama....lucked out....in that the terrorists used a defective detonator which caused the bomb not go off.

It is clear that nobody in the Obama administration had a clue, or maybe didn't even care, that there was a bomb planted in the most obvious place on the planet, downtown NYC!

Get ready for the funerals...Obama is incapable of doing anything about terrorist attacks...his luck is running out.

That was in relation to the trigger, the bomb type itself would have been quite destructive if it was set off. Propane and natural gas have been used by the muslims before.

Evidently the claim by the Taliban is being swept under the rug. They posted a warning BEFORE the bomb went off and claimed credit for it. They weren't expecting the bomb to fail.

Funny we don't hear more about that, isn't it?
