Swedish Sub Sinks The USS Ronald Reagan (Video)

Ever since WWII, America has been a dominant force upon the high seas. We have become so advanced in our military technology that the Soviet Union eventually collapsed, in large part because Ronald Reagan would not back down against them. In honor of his accomplishments and great leadership, congress named the worlds largest aircraft carrier after him, the USS Ronald Reagan.

Thanks to Reagan, America has been able to set the standard for which other nations have wished to achieve. Well it has been 22 years since Reagan left office, and while we have been able to hold our status as the worlds most powerful military force the world has ever seen, those days could be coming to an end. Thanks in large part to the anti military sentiment that prevails in Washington, America is beginning to lose the battle of technological advancement.

What you will see in this video is a report about the Swedish submarine, NemoSaltadSobrius, which cannot be detected by our navy. Even worse, this submarine has reportedly sunk our best and most powerful naval ships in mock war games. Check out this report by Chuck Henry of channel 4 news out of San Diego. Henry reports that the US Navy is attempting to figure out how to detect the Swedish submarine before our enemies can discover the secret of its elusiveness.

I am glad our navy is trying to figure out a way to detect this sub before a rogue nation like Iran or North Korea gets their hands on the technology for it. However, it should be other countries trying to figure out how to stop us and our equipment, not the other way around. Which brings me to the million dollar question, "Why are we even in this predicament"?

Well it begins with the fact that most Americans do not know that the US Constitution explicitly states that the number one job of the United States Government is to secure the borders of America. That's right. The founding fathers knew that it was incumbent upon the government to defend our......

After the oil platform in the Gulf was destroyed, and all the talk about sabotage. I began to wonder if Obama not only allowed it to happen, but could he and his Fascist collaborators be involved in doing it. Then I remembered this video I ran about 6 Months ago and decided it might be worthwhile to bring it back for another look. After all, what if Obama decides to cancel the program before the Navy is able to detect the sub. How long would it be before our enemies get a hold of the sub and we start losing more than an oil platform?

I’ve heard stories about our sailors sorta slacking in their duties as of late. I fondly recall movies where sailors were always working, heads in scopes and paying attention to the mechanics of their vessels. Can any recent Navy vets attest to the readiness of our fleets?

Article with Video Ping!

Here is a video and an article about the Swedish submarine that has routinely sunk the USS Ronald Reagan Aircraft Carrier. The US Navy is still trying to figure out how to detect it.

What do you think chances are that the Obama regime will cancel the program before we can detect it? Thus giving those who hate us like the terrorist, China, or even Cuba the chance get the technology and destroy more than just an oil rig in the Gulf?

Well I am off to work, so go ahead and read the article I titled, “Swedish Sub Sinks The USS Ronald Reagan” and watch the video at the ChicoER Gate .

I think this might be more a case of an unglamorous mission (ASW) getting the short end of the stick for decades.

I suppose I’m used to the Hollywood glamour of the Navy: pristine decks and alert sailors. I hope that when the SHTF our Navy and Air Force is ready for anything.

Darn: Where was this post yesterday when I was being blasted for daring to say that a Sub could sneak past the US Navy and into the Gulf of Mexico. Not saying that it did but to hear the morons say that it is impossible for a sub to remain undetected in a body of water as large as the Gulf of Mexico is simply stupid.

I am a 22 year Navy vet and retired in 1984. We were the best in the world at that time. I have friends who I served with that are also providing technical support to the current Navy. They tell me that sailors today are not sufficiently trained and require constant technical support from civilian contractors to keep the equipment operating. One friend quoted that all the sailors care about are sending emails and playing video games. The ships captains aren’t much better. They are more concerned about making sure the satellite link is operational for email traffic, than the capability of the ships combat systems and communications. Preventative maintenance is poor at best. I just saw a one year old Cruiser in Mayport Florida that was a total rust bucket.

That’s what I was afraid of, Rok. Our military has no pride in the uniform anymore. That doesn’t mean everyone, but even my cousin who was recently discharge from the USAF was more concerned about her Facebook postings than her duties as an MP.

One thing that comes to mind that has not been addressed: I don’t think Sweden spends a huge amount on its defense industry. So, how did they develop this sub and what was its cost relative to our latest round of subs? Have we taken a wrong turn down technology road somewhere?

Chipping paint was the primary deterrent to poor behavior when I was in. Apparently, the crews nowadays are perfect angels.

This type of sub is VERY SPECIFIC to the mission the Swedes must face - Russian infiltration of their fjiords (sp?) and harbors. During the Cold War, they were constantly infiltrated and there’s still some Russian operations being conducted in Swede waters.

This ship is NOWHERE near as capable as one of our subs, when you consider time, distance, speed, weapons, etc. It isn’t a long range patrol sub, so it has its own limitations.

Because it’s so stealthy, it’s contracted to the US Navy specifically seek out gaps and help train US subs and ASW platforms.

It doesn’t mean we’re weak, but this sub is QUIET.

The Swedes have a very sophisticated defense industry and provide the bulk of their own weaponry. The sub in question is state of the art, uses a air-independent propulsion system, and is crewed by highly-trained, professional submariners. It's no shame to be beaten under conditions optimized for the sub, in fact the Navy wants the Swedes to beat us until we reach the point where they can't beat us any more. Then they will have served their purpose.

Nonsense, there are plenty of sensing systems which can detect that or any other submarine. Don't believe everything you read!

That’s is pretty sad, but what is sadder is the fact that for the next two years minimum things will just get worse.

Nothing against your cousin, but the day we allowed women to do more then nursing and desk jobs the end for our military was in site.

So what makes you think the sensor is a sonar device?
