Here is video of CNN's Paul Begala and Anderson Cooper discussing the news that Democrat U.S. Senate Candidate Richard Blumenthal has repeatedly lied about having served in the military "in Vietnam." Begala said it is "indefensible" if in fact - as it appears to be - that he never served in Vietnam.
BEGALA: "There is no good or ethical reason that he could have done that, Anderson. Uh, the guy ought to have a chance to respond. I saw the Times story as well. . . . You read those four words - 'I served in Vietnam.' That appears to be factually false. It is indefensible. It is a catastrophic mistake because it's not the sort of mistake people tend to make."
Blumenthal did serve in the Marine Corps Reserve, but never served "in Vietnam," as he has claimed on numerous times that he did.

For the NY Slimes to do this story to me...means it is a pre-emptive strike to get him out and replace him while there is still time to get another candidate. They knew it would come out later.
Connecticut Tea party Patriots will remind BlumneDodd of his lie at every public function he attends in the state.
I'm am going out right now and load up on popcorn!
Maybe there is a restaurant in his district named “Vietnam” where he worked as a waiter earlier on.

If Bill Clinton had made this claim, Begala would filibuster into tomorrow justifying it. I think Begala in fact DID argue for Hillary’s delusional claim that she came under sniper fire in Kosovo.
I agree completely. They might have a hard time pulling a “Toricelli” in CT. The Dems don’t control the courts there as much as they do in NJ.
The slimes never hits Dems unless there is an ulterior motive. Definite pre-emption.
He must have been hanging around that guy from the Clinton era who had to be removed from sacred ground in Arlington. Not only are they commies, they are cowards.
However, the New York Times is not really attacking him. Rather, they are simply attacking the Washington Post.
You have to read slowly through the part where they relate his career. You'll find ".....serve as a special assistant to The Washington Posts publisher, Katharine Graham;....." and there it is.
His mistake, as a tool of the Washington Post community, was to run for office in the NYT bailiwick.
I just wish they would drop Iowa Senator Tom Harkin’s name once in covering this story.
“Blumenthal did serve in the Marine Corps Reserve...”
Can someone explain to me how you can be in the Reserve without actually having been, in this case, in the Marines?
I thought the Reserve services were made up of people who had been in the Service and are now, you know, on “Reserve”.
Or am I just suffering from “didn’t read the whole article” syndrome?
I’m sorry this man is a liar, or exagerator, but it is good news for us because I think he was supposed to be their best candidate. It’s kind of surprising this never came out before, I mean he ran for office and was elected several times.
And it is a stupid thing to lie about, it is easy to check and it really offends people.
I predict he will be dumped to get a candidate with a better chance. That is why.
Hey Paul!
How do you feel about Kerry’s lies, regarding his service?
Umm, Paul, it’s not a ‘mistake’ if you have repeatedly said it and/or not clarified it for reporters over a period of twenty years. It’s called a ‘lie’...
Re:Blumenthal...just one more lying Democrat.

Blumenthal must have a skeleton in his closet, like is pro life or something that defies the orthodoxy of the dimrat party. Otherwise they would treat him like the other elected dims they campaign for. They hid/ignored much more about obummer to get him elected and now they are turning on a potential vote for their agenda.
