Here is video of Rob Simmons, GOP Candidate for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut, on "Hardball" where he told Chris Matthews that Richard Blumenthal "should apologize" for misrepresenting his military service by saying he served "in Vietnam" when he did not.
Chris Matthews then said there are "two possibilities" as to why Blumenthal would say he was in Vietnam when he never was:
Either he is a "liar," or "he's got a mental problem of some different kind, or psychological disorder we're not familiar with."
Rob Simmons said "I think he didn't misspeak - he misled. He didn't misspeak, he misled."
Chris Matthews did say he believes Blumenthal should "get out of politics for awhile and pay his price for this, and maybe run later."
Is that Chris Matthews accusing someone of possibly having a "mental disorder?"

I thought insanity was one of the prerequisites to joining the DemocRAT Party?
****Mathews wants him to step down now so theyll have time to find someone else to run.****

Takes one to know one.
I too have to give Matthews credit. Lawrence O'Donnell was on Matthews' show last night spinning and minimizing Blumenthal's lie and Matthews would have no part of that. It just goes to show that there are different levels of mendacity and double standard in politics.
“Is that Chris Matthews accusing someone of possibly having a “mental disorder?”<P.
Takes one to know one!
I want this guy to stay in the race. Stay in and go down in flames in NOV.
The libs want Dodd to get back in.
Mathews wrong again. All liberals are disordered and this one happens to be a liar as well.
Blumey the Bully looks like his family tree had no branches.....he is WIERD!!
Matthews is trying to help Chris Dodd get back in the race. Can’t be anything else.
Chrissy, the lying nutcase, gets it.
Military service within your own country is honourable.
Non-combatant service is honourable.
Peacetime service is honourable.
Reserve service is honourable.
Service you never did is nothing...
For goodness sake, this man was a United States Marine - what more honour did he have any need to claim?
And by claiming more, hes lost it all.
This from Chris Matthews... a guy who joined the peace corps...at a time when he was still eligible for the draft....
