This is serious business. I have already considered options in "going Galt" in my own profession if push comes to shove, and as far as medical care goes, I have already taken steps to establish agreements with local doctors in case alternate means of obtaining care become necessary.

I sold my practice 3 years ago and retired at the age of 59. It just wasn’t worth it any more.

My husband, a distinguished biochemist in his field, retired in his late forties. He then managed my practice for a few years until we sold it. He holds 6 patents for inventions he developed while working for a major chemical company, lectured worldwide, wrote many papers for the leading journals in his field, and was elected to be a distinguished researcher at the early age of 40 by the other scientists in the company ( a significant honor).

The taxes and hassle just were not worth it!

We live very simply and we strive to pay a little in the way of taxes of all kinds as is honestly possible.

(By the way...Government school taxes are especially irksome. I just hate having to support government indoctrination that his working to undermine every value that I hold to be precious. )

When Will Surgeons Say "Enough Is Enough?

The video closed with Ronald Reagan who long ago shared with us his wise observation.

“Realize that the doctor’s fight against socialized medicine is your fight. You can’t socialize the doctors without socializing the patients.” — Ronald Reagan
