People get passports for their children just so they'll have them.

Maybe now they do. Passenger jets were relatively new in 1960. My kids had passports at age 11 and 14 (both because they were traveling to Europe), but I didn't get my first passport until I was almost 30 years old, which was in 1976.

I do agree that it would have been easy to get the birth recorded and newspaper announcements run that indicate when BHO was born. Back then a phone call or letter from the mother would not have been questioned. And it was also customary for airlines to not allow late-term pregnant women to fly, so she would have had to stay until after he was born, then fly to Hawaii. Her parents had the wherewithal to provide plane tickets, make the report to the newspaper, get the certificate for home birth, etc. Can’t prove it but it makes logical sense.

Dr Conspiracy is still going on about:

… the US Department of State said:

To the extent this paragraph alleges that Lolo Soetoro is or ever was President Obama’s father by birth or adoption, that allegation is denied.

***

Denying an allegation doesn’t mean very much.

But I did guess this would happen, I mean as far as them “denying” that these records exist.

Passports in the 1960’s or so were good for 3 years and could be renewed for an additional 2 years, There is block in the passport to show it had been renewed (or not). Those passports had an issue date in them but no expiration date but an Aviso below it:

In the passport it says (with an arrow pointing to it) IMPORTANT Unless Otherwise Limited
This Passport Expires Three Years From Issue Date
If Renewed, It Expires Five Years From Issue Date.

a note it also had a place to mark wife and minors.

Aren’t passports good for 10 years?

My last two have been valid for ten years. The ones before that were only valid for five years. The passports my kids got when they were less than 18 years old were also only valid for five years.

I am going to differ with the information that there was definately a passport issued before 1965.(I believe there was) What is shown in the FOIA documents is a renewal for her previous passport issued July 19, 1965. The renewal was done on August 13, 1968 and renewed to July 18, 1970. Signature at bottom of page shows date of application of renewal and top right hand corner shows date pp renewed to.

She had her passport amended in 1967 to show her married name.

She entered the US on October 21, 1971 with and expired passport and was granted an exception to enter and required to pay $25 within 30 days. A notation on the bottom in red shows a bill was sent on 11/?9/71.

The fact that her prior application (s) are missing indicates to me not that they were destroyed but that they were removed. What are the odds that only her passport records before 1968 are missing but the ones afterwards are available? It took over a year and a half for State to release this info. WHY did htey have to come up with a plan to hide the truth? That coupled with the overwhelming problems in Hawaii leads me to believe something very wrong is in Obama’s background and being hidden from US. I don’t normally believe in conspiracies, but this is looking more and more like something is very wrong in our country and more than one person is playing hide the ball.

IMO A criminal investigation into her missing passport records is in order. For you Obots, do you believe they just went missing? Please Explain it to me and explain how Obama got a SS from Connecticut. Somewhere along the line when you see enough BS even the OBOTS should start to question what is really going on. I expect Gibbs to be questioned again on the SS number and now on the missing records.

Thanks. I’ve renewed my passport once now and both were good for the ten years. Learn something every day here!

“It sounds to me like HI officials (or whoever controls them) are now instructing the U.S. Passport Office how to obfuscate and parse sentences in cover letters to allow them to not provide what one asks for and yet not be lying.

There was obviously a passport issued to Stanley Ann (whatever name she used to get it) prior to 1965. I was under the impression that passport records kept and filed by name were kept virtually forever.”

I am going to add one more comment. In the 1960’s it was common for children to be listed on their mother’s passport, with a group photo, especially if they were under around 8 years of age (I dont know exactly). In her renewal of 1968 There is no document showing to exclude a child. (of her previous passport) Interesting that her 1965 passport and any earlier ones are missing which might contain evidence that Barack was on her passport (or not).

This release only adds more unaswered questions.

Who is Stanley Ann and why should anyone give a squat?

You're kidding me. Ten years at FR, and you're asking that question? Wow.

Passport Records for Issuances 1925 – Present
Requesting Your Own Record
Passport Services maintains United States passport records for passports issued from 1925 to the present. These records normally consist of applications for United States passports and supporting evidence of United States citizenship, and are protected by the Privacy Act of 1974, (5 USC 552(a)). Passport records do not include evidence of travel such as entrance/exit stamps, visas, residence permits, etc., since this information is entered into the passport book after it is issued.

Looks like someone purged her files to me.

“Aren’t passports good for 10 years?”

Only since 1982. From 1959 through August 1968, original passports were only issued for three years, and they could be renewed for an additional two years.

See 22 USC Sec. 217a
http://uscode.house.gov/download/pls/22C4.txt

Thus, as seen on P1, Ann’s passport was originally issued on July 19, 1965, was renewed three years later in 1968, and the renewal extended the passport through July 18, 1970.
